if anyone is interested. paid a total of 0.45c for it. this one only allows clicks to launch shortcuts. ie one click, two click, three click.

this is not to be mistaken with this one on kickstarter. this one allows a lot more customization with the clicks and length of press.

i just got the s5 and i just got the spigen galaxy s5 case slim armor view case (Galaxy S5 Case Slim Armor View - Galaxy S5 - Galaxy - Samsung - Brands | Spigen)

for some reason, when i open or close the lid, it doesn't auto wakeup/sleep. is there any special settings that i have to adjust?

just fyi, i'm asian and i kept the plastic protection film on the inside of the sview. not sure if that will affect anything.

my s4 just died recently. wont power on at all. the screen will briefly turn on for about a second if i take the battery out and put it back in. brought it into samsung and the suggested that its probably the power button. anyone have a similar issue?

maybe the case is missing the magnet? take a small magnet and run it around the edges of the screen and see if the phone wakes/ sleeps. if it does, your case is either missing the magnet or its in the wrong place.

Try:
Settings -> My device -> Accessory -> S View Cover

S5 owner here. When I got the Samsung flip cover case the wakeup worked without me doing any config.

I also returned it cause I didn't like it.

i don't have anything called "my device". i went into settings, and there is the accessory setting but it only lists HDMI Audio Output.

if it makes any difference, i am running on 4.4.2 and model is SM-G900W8

i tried that with a fridge magnet. i ran it along the edges of the screen and the frame and it does not wake/sleep.

Just pop by the Samsung store at Metro / RC and they should figure it out for you.

I got prompted for a firmware update this morning and I go to install it and it gets to 25% resets the counter gets to 25% then I get an error and the device restarts.

I have 4.4.2
the phone is rooted

Thought you couldnt get OTA updates if your phone has been rooted. You would need to unroot and then download the OTA and then reroot after. At least thats what its like with most phones.

I had to unroot my phone in order to update with latest OTA. But when I even tried to download it, the phone said it has been modified and didn't let me download the update. Not sure how come you were able to get to 25%.

so... I unrooted the phone, and it still did the same thing, any other ideas? I get the message saying to try again using Kies.

woke up this morning, noticed that my phone downloaded an update and said that update has bug fixes, pressed ok and went back to sleep. Noticed that bluetooth audio doesn't glitch out anymore and doesnt take random screen shots either when the phone freezes

Hmm, maybe it was a faulty download? Try navigating with your phone files and deleting the downloaded OTA. Then redownload it and apply the update with the new file. I know if you have a break in your download or something, it could make the file incomplete. Thus when you try to install it, it wont get past a certain %.

Happened to me on a different phone, deleting the update and redownloading it fixed the problem.

anyone know when 4.4.4 is out? 4.4.2 is crap... S4 is lagggggy.

Sometimes I love this phone, but when it comes to email and more 'work' related tasks, it drives me crazy. Makes me miss my Blackberry (only sometimes! lol).

This phone should be so much more crisp and snappy. I've done pretty much everything I can think of to help this, short of rooting it :(

I find most of the samsung phones a bit laggy. The s5 is actually a big improvement in this area but I'm sure as the new updates come out, it to will be a bit laggy. Thats how they get you to get the next model ;)

Been a year and 3 months since I've had an S4.. This is the longest I've had a phone without switching. I'm still happy with it. =)

I don't know. I don't really like the S4. The screen is not bright enough in sunlight and the battery life isn't that great.
