I've noticed my S4 really slowing down lately. It lags like crazy when I'm trying to type text messages and when using Swype. Ever since I updated firmware it sucks. Any ideas? My phone is pretty darn empty. I have very few apps and never run bluetooth/wifi etc. I have a lot of photos but that's about it.

I was thinking to back everything up and reset the phone.

Are we using the same phone? I think the camera is quite good. For a phone. Better than my S2, S3 and any friend's Iphones.

My gf says the same thing about her S3. Ever since the last update the battery life is shit and she says its slow as fuck. I guess Samsung didn't bother optimizing anything

I'm in the same boat. Very few apps, but a decent amount of pics (not that it should matter? I save them all to my sd card).

Since the update, the muti-window feature (the little tab that always on the screen for easy switching) will sometimes disappear, even though I haven't turned it off. Easy fix, I go in, turn it off, then back on again, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

It sounds like you used the shortcut to hide the little tab. You can hide/show the multi-window tab by holding the back button when the multi-window setting is turned on.

I have a i9508, a China version of the S4, and the only difference between it and a Google Play Edition is the radio, all hardware are the same.

There are however no custom roms available for the i9508.

Can I download a custom rom for i9505, delete the radio from the rom, then flash the rom onto my i9508?

Won't work, I flash my s4 to a different version rom by accident version before and my phone won't even work.

i've brought my phone in for a screen replacement cause it stopped working.
only took 2 business days so it's much faster than having rogers ship it..they estimate like 7-10 business days.

Becasue the CPU inside the phone is different. Try to search up xda and there is more info on it.

So I soft-bricked my i9508, and it wasn't actually from a custom rom, it was when I was trying to restore the firmware through Odin.

I flashed CM i9505 and it actually worked, albeit some bugs here and there, but when I tried to restore the firmware, it failed in Odin.

What's working now is Download mode and TWRP recovery.

Besides the sponsor JP Cellular, is there anyone you guys can recommend that I can take to the fix the phone?

anyone with bell have shitty reception? My reception bar is always at 1 bar when i'm at home. I can't receive text or call until i text or call someone which bring my bar up to full bar for a couple mins and then it drop back to one again. So if someone were to text me i wont' get it until i text them. Then all their text will all show up at once.

Edit: nvm. fixed, it seem i can't use LTE inside my house. Have to switch the connection to WCDMA/GSM and im at full bar again. Weird that it never happen before. Must be the gay 4.3 update.
