What is everyone willing to pay per MH/S? I always looks at mining rigs on FB marketplace and some are as high ae $35 per MH/S. $18000 for a rig that does 608 MH/S.

StylinRed 06-17-2021 02:07 PM

^^^ a lot of ppl have a long term mentality when they calculate their costs, which I think is dangerous for crypto given the volatility

How r u guys cooling ur rigs? My central cooling and a big ass shop fan isn't cutting it :/

Going to install an exhaust fan, and probably need a portable ac too :/

Curious about what others think about this too... I will potentially sell my rig at the end of the year. I was thinking more along the lines of $20-$25 per MH/S but maybe I should reconsider...

Would that be before or after POS? I don't know what's going to happen to other POW coins when everyone switches to them after eth mining stops. They are going to get flooded with miners.

Yea I am not really sure what's going to happen tbh, I just hope the cards itself still hold value :concentrate:

You are absolutely correct!! its extremely dangerous.
look at what happened back in 2017-2018

And now, ETH is ending mining soon.
No one knows whats gonna happen.

Keep mining sounds like a huge gamble.

And how are those greedy bastards selling those mining rigs at outraged prices ?? I bet none of them got sold.
Someone in Surrey is selling $27500 for 6x 3080...
I really want to reply to the guy, how about i sell you mine to you for $20000

PeanutButter 06-18-2021 09:39 AM

Once everything moves to proof of stake, does that make your mining rigs useless?

If everything does, then yeah, but not everything is or will

The Bitcoin ATM we have is getting a ton of use today. 4 people in the last 3 hours. 3 of them were seniors.

A few days ago I had a really old guy come in wanting help with the machine. He wanted to send $900 to the sturgeon general in the US. His friend Mary from Virginia (guy spent half his life in the US) called and told his she sent $900 and got 50K back. I took me a few minutes to explain to him it was a scam.

I believe they are using old yearbooks to get names.

The worlds biggest pyramid scheme is in trouble. People are not interested in spending real money on imaginary money right now.

I’m missing the part on the graph where it lost 60% of its value in a month. We all know where Bitcoin came from. We also know what happens in the market. Buy on the rumour, sell on the news.

Crypto is still profitable to mine. I remember when the price dropped so low it cost more to mine than it was worth. If you would have told someone 10 months ago that bitcoin would be 40K in June they would not believe you. It was 11K in September.

I imagine the correction is ending soon. It's simply back to the price before Elon Musk pumped it.

As usual, only people that are hurting are people that FOMO'd near the top. Dogecoin was a top three coin at one point for fuck's sake.

But yeah, people tend to say "zoom out" to hide any dips, lol. Only works if you're saying that to people that invested what they could afford to lose. Unfortunately, that's usually not the case.

I don't doubt we will see a surge again, but I don't think the surge will be like what we saw in April, at least not until people forget, many many months from now.
It got all the Elon dickrider investmenter boys in the basement going nuts, and the general public wanted to get in on it. A huge portion of the population will be very wary of buying a theory after they ate shit on the pump and dump. It's Kony 2012 all over again but for investing. Everyone wants on the train until they see where the train is going.
Investing is just like gambling. People that win think they are smart, when they are just lucky. Not that I'm not envious of those that won big, or sympathetic for those that lost big.

I'm utilizing amazon refunds for the hard drives I bought, just in the nick of time for their return window

I never got around to installing/running my chia rigs

Just going to run the ones I can't return anymore

Put them on FB marketplace and see if they will sell first.

Razor Ramon HG 06-23-2021 02:33 PM

Anything not local is just a pain in the ass. Too many fucking scammers.

Guys amazon.co.jp has stock on 3070s 3070ti n 3080ti's

They do ship to Canada, just "msrp" in Japan is still pretty damn high, 3070 ti is like $1500 CAD after shipping n taxes

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B096HQC9Y5/

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B08LGRFLSK/

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B096M7P5R6/

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B095Y9JQGR/

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B095YG2NR9/

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B097DRMZ2S/

The price you see listed on the site includes Vat but when you ship to Canada it removes said VAT and adds shipping and GST etc

I'm not picking any up, just thought I'd share :P

The pricing is pretty sporadic between brands n brand models too

Edit: wow I just checked the prices on eBay, and amazon's own prices are more than scalper prices in some cases lmao

Huge $3.6B Bitcoin heist. Wonder if this kind of currency makes it easier. Wasn't there some guy here in BC that 'disappeared'?
