anyone here likes Romer's?

Just tried their Jimmy's Breakfast Burger yesterday at Marine Location.

Man it was super delicious like they say "breakfast is always good". burger was made with pork & egg therefore juicy as fk. I rate it 10/10, however I am not the best judge.

As long as you like it, that's all that matters.

The best burger I've had lately is at a relatively unknown place called Choo Choo's in Downtown Langley on Fraser Hwy. Past the Casino where it become's one way. My wife Nd I have been there twice now and both times I ordered burgers are was throughly surprised and satisfied. The first time I just ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger and the beef was just delicous definitly fresh and hand made patty as you could easily tell because it was more oval shaped than frozen hockey puck shaped. The cheese was aged cheddar and bacon crispy. Simple addition of ketchup & mustard lettuce tomato. We then found out after when i said to the waitress how great the burger was that they also make there burger buns each day so it's always fresh as can be.

The second time my wife and I went there I again ordered a burger which was on the Specials menu so don't know if it will still be there but if you like greek food here's a burger for you. It was called "The Sonja Burger" and it was 1/3 lb. Patty or Beef & Chorizo Sausage on a Portuguese bun with lettuce tomato & Taziki sauce on each bun. Man was it delicious. You get the juiciness of the beef and then the spicy saltiness of the chorizo kicks in.

I wouldn't say they were the best burger's I've ever had because I honestly can't think of a favourite but both times I've been there I have been more than satisfied with their food.

Tried out the Bacon Cheeseburger based on this recommendation. Was great, and the fries were pretty good too. Reminded me on In 'n Out fries. Will definitely be going here for my burger fixes :-)

Fucking love Romer's. Forgot what it was called, chorizo burger maybe? Is one of my favourites.

I tried the $2.85 burger yesterday, and for the dollar value IMO, it's quite good. I like it and will be going back again

$3.00 for a burger with fresh lettuce and tomatoes is a fantastic deal. Even if the pattie is all dry and smothered in teriyaki sauce, it's well worth the admission price.

Does anyone have a lead on good potato hamburger buns/rolls?

swiftshift 06-11-2016 12:49 PM

Anyone tried Cali/Burger yet
There's been lots of hype about it..

Galactic_Phantom 06-11-2016 02:44 PM

^someone mentioned it on the ratings thread already

Gucci Mane 06-11-2016 03:32 PM

i got turned off by the google reviews that people have left. they're saying it takes 30mins to make the burger and when it comes out its luke warm. don't know if that was just opening day or what but it was enough to prevent me from going there.

Obsideon 06-11-2016 05:39 PM

Yeah I went the other day, lined up like 30 minutes, then had to wait for food again. My order number was 33 and they were still calling number 11. It was a very long wait, and overhyped. The fries were soggy and burger was nothing to write home about.

Can't even compare to the In'n Out in Los Angeles. (The Vegas one sucks)

Tried it the other day and lined up for 30 minutes right before closing on a weekday. It's not a bad burger but it's definitely no where near as good as In N Out even though they're essentially an In N Out copycat.

Price is a bit expensive for what you get. I definitely wouldn't wait longer than 10 minutes for the burger. Just go when the hype dies down.

Mk1freak knows where do get nice buns. Trust me on that one.

mk1freak 06-12-2016 10:53 PM

nice buns all right :ifyouknow:
Spoiler!

remember though its fresher at the bakery on 1st versus going into the market. I've grabbed from the markets when i'm in need and not going by the bakery.

waited 15 mins to order and about another 30-40 for our food.

I enjoyed it but def not down to wait that long again for it lol

every combo is pretty much $15+

def gotta get the burger+fries cali style

you can charge ur phone with this wireless charger thing on their tables. thought that was pretty cool lol

I think the best time to go would be 1-2 hours before closing

keifun 06-13-2016 12:56 PM

Tried a Caliburger. I've never been to In and Out so I can't compare, but I just thought it was just average. Definitely not worth for the $$ value.
For a similar price tag, I rather go back to nearby (kinda) Five Guys instead.

Side note: The wireless charging didn't seem to work for me. Do you have to turn on NFC or something, only for android or iphone?

Expresso 06-13-2016 01:12 PM

Your phone has to support wireless charging. It's not voodoo magic.

A couple of new reviews

Johnny Rockets Victoria.

Was in Victoria to get a new passport. Walked by this place looking at the sign it I thought it could be a toy store or a food place. Turned out to be a burger joint. The menu was pretty standard. The burger and fries where good but nothing really special. I wish the portions where bigger. If I'm in the area would go back but would not go out of my way fro this 7.5 out of 10.

South ST. Burger Tsawwassen Mills

They had about 5 different signature burgers available in 4 and 6 oz patties. Ordered the 6 oz peri peri burger with fries and a drink. The drink was put on a round tray and pushed to the next station.

https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/FOO...5CLxQTb-X4.jpg

At the next station I pick a a whole wheat bun and then he asks me if I want it classic style. I'm confused. Find out classic style is the peri peri burger with the regular peri peri toppings. Like subway they have all the toppings in front of you and you can add what ever you want. Now I wait for the patty and I wait some more. Now 2 people are behind me standing waiting for there patty. More people now come in and think we are waiting in line to order so a worker has to tell them to come to the other side to order. Fist bite all bun and this was the larger 6 oz burger. A patty should be to the edge of the bun or slightly bigger. This patty was too small. This picture sums up the second bite.

https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/FOO...6sxLtkQ-X4.jpg

The patty was actually past well done. I know it's a big thing now to have a crust on the patty but the inside should still be juicy this was not that. The fries where o.k. but I did not finish them and that was the small size. 5/10 FailFish
