Yeah, my first time there, I was like, "wut? I get to pick what I want?" For the most part, I'm easily satisfied with their Splitz burger - either Splitz sauce, or hummus and baba ghanoush(spelling) and a dash of mustard, and your basic pickings - wait and enjoy.

They have a lunch special I believe - $4.00 for either a Splitz Burger or lentil burger (which is pretty good too IMO) on Monday to Thursdays I believe from 11am to 4pm. Anything else is extra (i.e. fries, pop, extra toppings etc.)

The double is too large to eat, dunno how anyone would eat a triple other than with a fork and knife...

Double is where it's at! Had the Double at Splitz too, was AMAZING! :fullofwin:

For the price, Splitz > Romer's.

PJ 03-25-2013 06:17 AM

Gave Vera's another shot because I was in the area downtown...
Still no good.

Splitz is still easily my favourite. Have yet to have a burger that even comes close.
(Not including homemade ;) )

I just wish they had better fries.

Sushi604 03-25-2013 07:25 AM

Seriously? You gotta go out and try more recluse locations. Splitz isn't even that great imho.

Seriously.
What do you suggest for... more recluse locations?
I just live 3 minutes from the Main St. location, and it beats everything in the area. ;)

Sushi604 03-25-2013 07:42 AM

Well since you probably are not looking to travel to Maple ridge, here's one local in Burnaby that's easily accessible by transit. I don't think anyone has suggested this yet...

Burgers Etc

I have yet to try it personally; will eventually this coming weekend. If anyone here get's the chance to do so before I do, please comment!

I've been to Burger etc...

Overhyped.

The best burger I've had is still from the Rogue at waterfront station.

That's too bad. I was hoping for something local too...

So far, Bobby Sox's in Maple Ridge for me is the best so far...

If you want a belt busting, gut destroyer burger, get the Hero burger with a extra patty.

Culverin 03-25-2013 08:55 AM

I'm from Burnaby.

I think their Burgers Etc. doesn't really have burgers that are amazing.
But their BBQ isn't bad.
Better than Memphis Blues.
So if I don't feel like heading to Hogshack for bbq, then Hogshack it is.

PJ 03-25-2013 09:07 AM

Burgers etc is so-so. Reminds me of Fatburger. I probably prefer Fatburger.

I'm still itching to try that Lost in the 50's place.

bcrdukes 03-25-2013 10:57 AM

Burgers Etc. is kinda blah. BBQ isn't bad, however.

PJ 03-25-2013 07:33 PM

Gonna try Carls downtown tomorrow. :lawl:

Same here. Wasn't on my radar and Hot Rod is also one of my favourite comedies.

Going to check it out for sure.

Haha, just to warn you, its basically a better burger king. And that isn't saying much.

I still enjoy the angry double whopper from time to time but there are higher quality food to spend my hard dollars on.

I've been to the Rogue, their burgers were great. Though at $14 it was pricey...

bcrdukes 03-25-2013 11:16 PM

For those of you who had the burger at Rogue, is the burger consistently as good at both locations?

corollagtSr5 03-26-2013 01:53 AM

I ate my first rogue burger on the one on broadway and it tasted pretty delicious to me.

Oh yeah, I'm not expecting much.

I've had it in the states, but my friends wanna try it here. I don't imagine it to be much different.

The best Burger is in the 250. Better than Verra's, 5 Guys, and Fat Burger. The Place is called Old City Takeout located in Nanaimo. They use Island grown non medicated beef from a local butcher perfectly seasoned. great bun and great fries.

Just tried Romers in Yaletown and it sucked. Burgers and the sauce we got for the fries were all pretty bland. Luckily we had a Groupon lol.

bcrdukes 04-11-2013 08:29 AM

Seems like the Romer's in Yaletown is getting poor reviews consistently.

Mind you, I've only ever been to the one in South Van.

shawnly1000 04-11-2013 09:14 AM

Could be that they're getting swamped by the Groupon for that location only and/or new staff/opening hiccups :S

I went the day after the Groupon started and the place was only 30% full. With that said though, even if the place was full I don't think a place being swamped + being new should be a reason that the food was below par. :okay:

After going past this place on my way to Burnaby Kawasaki a few times, I couldn't resist trying it, so I went in. Now every time I'm in the area, I go in to get one. Must try!

78% on Urbanspoon. Not too bad.
