don't know if you guys have heard of this place its called "Gordy cafe" it's on 96th and Scott road the place is basically a hole in the wall and the owner looks like a escaped convict but burgers are bloody amazing and cheaper than McDonald's. Under 6 bucks for burger fries and pop. 3 bucks for breakfast all day i got a bacon cheeseburger meal and it was 7 somthing. Def my new burger joint since it's so close!

Lost in the 50s is very good as well as mentioned above. 5 guys is amazing but a bit pricey compared to those two

Wendy's has a vegetarian baconator?

Triple O's is my go-to, but I agree, the fries aren't made well (White Spot does them better). I order onion rings, instead.

When I read this, the first thought that came to my mind was Rodeo Drive-In.

That place was a gem, such a shame it closed.

I feel guilty downing a fat bacon cheeseburger

I don't work out. I'm thin as heck.
Just watch what you eat. Skip the sweets and stuff from the junk food isle.
If you cut out "prepared" foods and just make your own, you'll eat like a king.

Is 5 Guys still super slammed?

Mr.Money 04-29-2013 03:30 AM

^^^ Worse then Mcdonalds by Staples & the skytrain.

european 04-29-2013 06:41 AM

dudes!!!

Yesterday, my friend and I went to Burger Heaven after the Dubberz Spring meet and Japanese Classic car show and it was money!!! I had the works burger and he had the special which was some crazy beef burger with peanut butter sauce or something.

I was too excited to even think about taking pictures of the meal but check out their website. Burger Heaven, Restaurant, Burgers, New Westminster, BC, British Columbia

My burger was delicious. I'm definitely going back there again.

Look what Boston Pizza has now:

It's a Pizza burger.

westopher 04-29-2013 02:14 PM

Fuck boston pizza is so disgusting. Its like getting those pre made appetizers in a box from safeway and microwaving them.

winson604 04-29-2013 02:53 PM

Tried Five Guys on Friday and as someone mentioned the energy and teamwork in the place is very obvious. It was very refreashing to see this especially in a fast food joint.

Now to the food, it was good but I guess it was overhyped for me. If I had to pick from Mcdonalds, Burger King, Wendys etc then hands down I would pick Five Guys over any of those places. To say they make the best burger in town is a bit of an over statement imo at least.

For people who have eaten here before whether it be in the states or PoCo, are the fries supposed to be soggy or did I just get a bad batch?

westopher 04-29-2013 03:13 PM

I had it today. Best fast food burger? Sure. Best burger in Van? That's laughable. I'll go back for sure, but it was still a well done skinny patty burger.

I share the same sentiments, sans "best fast food burger."

I still prefer Splitz Grill. I'd have to really go out of my way to go to a Five Guys.

westopher 04-29-2013 03:41 PM

Splitz is the top of my list for a quick bite. I'd say pourhouse is may favourite for sit down restaurant burger, and 5 guys for fast food grease fix.

Just tried this place. Pretty good burgers and the fries were yummy. Only negative I saw was the cans of pop were a little dirty on the top. Had to clean before I drank from it, lol.

Xplicit_EL 05-04-2013 12:08 PM

u guys want a good burger go to Bierkraft (I think thats the spelling) on Commercial Drive. Had the Bierkraft burger and it was awesome. Best burger I've had in the past year.

I had their burger during lunch at their Cambie location. It was pretty tasty, but not a spot I'd hit up on a regular basis.

I had one of those last week. They are terrible.
Way too greasy for me :heckno:

JShifter 05-05-2013 08:33 AM

Red Robins , whiskey bbq beef burger man that stuff is juicy add some camp fire mayo and some plum sauce your good to go !!!

XplicitLuder 05-05-2013 12:28 PM

i wanna try this five guys joint now....like ASAP

LiquidTurbo 05-05-2013 12:45 PM

I actually think "The Burger" from Cactus Club is pretty darn good!

CorneringArtist 05-05-2013 03:01 PM

If you're in Surey and well away from any of the Five Guys locations, Texx Burger is a fantastic alternative to driving a minimum of 25 minutes for the South Surrey location. The burger was fundamentally the same IMO, but can get messy once you stack on the toppings.

Had the Royal Red with onion straws yesterday, decent burger!

How's the quality between Five guys in Bellingham and the one downtown? Been to the one in Bellingham and found the burger (bacon cheeseburger) to be a little disappointing. Mediocre at most.

Had the Texx Big Burger a couple weeks ago and prefer it over Five guys. This thing is massive and very messy to eat. Will probably opt for a bacon cheese next time

Got excited for the Robson opening for Five Guys, especially with this guys review!

The Bacon Cheese Burger was solid, not the "best in town" but better than most fast food joints, pretty pricey though, my meal came up to like $15 with fries and drink. (Get the small fries, they overload the hell out of the fry box so it's overflowing all over the paper bag anyway, you get a "large" fries regardless of what size you order lol)

What I did not like was the fries ... where was the "fry that bites back" as Daymdrop so eloquently put it? The fries I got were soggy and salty ... are they supposed to be like that?! I much prefer crispy fries, this is where McDonalds gets the nod.
