I already picked up tickets for the Sharks, Kings and Ducks games on November 7/9/10... driving down to do the roadtrip! Anyone else from here going?

Grabo showing why I didn't want him bought out.

So you're referencing my comment:

I think Kessel will have another PPG season this year and start a downward trend. Peak is usually the age of 27.

I don't get why you blew off my comment?

Kessel's last two seasons have been his best. He was a PPG player in 2012 and just over a PPG in 2013.

There's a growing argument based on stats that suggests the peak age when NHL players put forth their best performance falls somewhere between
the ages of 26 and 27. Performance as in ice time and points.

After this range, players start their decline. Kessel turns 26 tomorrow.

You can read more about it here: http://dacc.coalliance.org/fedora/re...OCKEY%20LEAGUE

yup bang on about ~27 being the prime. that is of physicality i think MR BIGGS meant to say. so of course skill and physicality are correlated, but of course ones skill could still be developing or not drop of at that age as well.

look at Selanne, Alfredsson. Those guys are 40+, and still are NHL capable. Keep in mind this is a glaring exception. most guys this age cannot perform this well

To say an athlete begins to decline at the age of 27 is just ridiculous.

Grabo on pace for 328pts this season according to tsn :drunk:

THIS.
That season, Canucks had such a dominant PP. It was their game to counter on the PP. Unfortunately, not every infraction was called, Tim Thomas became a brick wall, and when we did go on the PP, we failed to capitalize anyway.

As for the Kessel talk, I would take the Sedins over him any day.

As for the video ghostrider posted, thank you, that got me pumped right up.

One thing I would REALLY love to see changed......goal celebrations. Last few seasons they have done this "all business" approach, makes it look like they don't care or its no big deal. Every goal is a big deal. Get pumped, be excited, carry that energy! I hope that changes this year, you saw it in the pre-season, get fuckin pumped that your team notched one!

Including a picture of Kessel implies your reason for choosing the Sedins is that you find them more visually pleasing. So when you say that you would 'take' the Sedins, do you mean one in each hole, dp, or a double skullfuck?

In a round about way I just called you a faggot. wot nowm8?! :troll:

4 srs tho, I'd still prefer Kessel to be employed as a Leaf than the Sedins at this point in their careers - no homo

I'm not talking all sports. I'm talking decline in terms of ice time and point production of nhl players. Big difference from all athletes, although there may be correlation across sports.

The assumption is that players will have a slight increase in their productivity in the years leading up to age 27 but will decline at a more rapid rate as the years go on past that peak.

Attachment 18709

Not so ridiculous now. You can make the argument that after age 27, nhlers are more complete players, but in terms of points and ice time, the data suggests a decline.

Might be a good thing if Kesler loses the A. Remember the 2011 season where he wasn't named captain? He was pretty pissed and went on to score 41 goals lol

You are a leafs fan, resorting to homosexual references, I don't even need to make a come back. You are insulting yourself.
