But who was scoring goals?

I got a sneeky feeling this move was motivated by cap space and GMMG isn't on the rebuild wagon. This is a step of the retooling and there may be a bigger name coming. Might be why we didnt hear Lu was on the market, because he actually wasnt on the market but MG needed to make the move to make room.

Maybe there is a big shake up coming with Kesler+ going and more returning than just prospects.

still trying to bend my mind around the fact that Luongo and Schneider were traded for Bo Horvat, Jacob Markstrom, Shawn Matthias, and 15% of Luongo's cap hit.

anyone else see this? hope its not a repost.

Making a splash, the fans will love it and he is a great goalie and will give them more wins. The Panthers always have young assets and need a veteran goalie that's not a fucken wack job

+1. He's pretty popular afaik down there. Ticket sales are hurting in FLA, and this should put some butts back into seats.:concentrate:

thumper 03-04-2014 02:24 PM

i guess luongo is happy he stayed long enough with the canucks to get his gold olympic medal...

who says the aquilinis will give GMMG permission to even spend to the cap?

better question is, who would want to come play for the canucks given how we treated one of our franchise players?

Harvey Specter 03-04-2014 02:28 PM

Lu was a class act. He's always had my respect considering what he went through. A lot players with his status would have publicly criticized the team and city. He never did. And I'm glad he's going to Florida because that's where his wife and kids are. His wife never liked Vancouver so imagine playing abroad for most of the year without the support of your wife and kids so good for him. Could the Canucks have gotten more? Maybe. But the Canucks deserved this. They put this guy through hell and back and it's nice they finally let him go so he can continue his career somewhere else instead of going through the motions in Vancouver and be subjected to BS.

So, my favorite player just got traded. The management team of the Canucks has turned to shit. Someone give me a reason why I should stay a Canucks fan...

DanHibiki 03-04-2014 02:33 PM

Add to that, a fan of HOCKEY

Jmac 03-04-2014 02:49 PM

12 months ago we had two star goaltenders in Luongo and Schneider.

Now we have zero star goaltenders and a pair of rookie goaltenders. Regardless of potential, this is just horrendous mismanagement.

MG officially shit the bed.

I am a fan of hockey. I'm just saying that I'm losing interest for the Canucks as a team. Guess I can become one of those "neutral" hockey fans.

JSALES 03-04-2014 03:07 PM

At least Luongo is gone, he deserves better after we treated him like shit

And if you remain a neutral fan, will you come back onto the bandwagon when the Canucks turn things around?
