Holy fuck! Bastards!

Gh0stRider 03-04-2014 12:57 PM

panther fans get to re-use their luongo jerseys

AzNightmare 03-04-2014 12:58 PM

Trade seemed rather sudden.

I wonder if Luongo finally had enough and forced Gillis' hand after the Heritage Classic stunt,
or the trade was in works, and they didn't want to bother risking Luongo injury,
or Torts (and management) are just a bunch of dicks.

Not sure if you can say that.

Luongo
Schneider
Lack

All three are bonafide NHL #1s. They were exported as #1s. They didn't come here to die.

The issue here is the return we've been getting for said goalies lol

I see no issue with our goaltending development. Melanson is doing an excellent job with whatever goalies he's working with. Markstrom should be no different.

I don't think so. The goalie controversy is existent only because we have too many good goalies that could be #1. From Luongo to Schneider to Lack and now probably Markstrom. Everyone is usurping everyone.

Goalie controversies, yes lots, but a graveyard it is not.

fsy82 03-04-2014 01:01 PM

Team1040 said Bob Mckenzie said this trade was the fallout for not playing at the Heritage Classic. Basically the last straw

Luuuuuuu, we're gonna miss youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Interesting thoughts re: Heritage Classic.

Ch28 03-04-2014 01:03 PM

Can't believe that both Schneider & Luongo were traded for a 1st round pick, Shawn Matthias, & Markstrom.

That's 2 future hall of fame goaltenders traded for a 1st round draft pick, Mattthias, and Markstrom.

radioman 03-04-2014 01:04 PM

@HarrisonMooney 1m
So wait: the Canucks pissed Luongo off on Saturday, he said he wanted out, and they moved him in 2 days? THEN WHY WAS IT SO HARD LAST YEAR?!

Good point

or the deal was in the works since before the olympics and he requested to be benched so he doesn't get injured.

Gh0stRider 03-04-2014 01:07 PM

As per @RealKyper tweet... the Canucks will retain 15 percent of Luongo's salary in Florida deal

A little bit presumptuous there... we could be getting back 2 hall of famers and 1 hall of fame goalie back :accepted:
