Gh0stRider 03-04-2014 01:12 PM

Well, wifey got her wish......... Luigi.... family first. Wife must be damn fine.

Either that or she wears the pants in the family.

In any case, good for him. I hope he plays well for the Panthers.

Time to move on. Drama is over. Perhaps the team can now get their collective shit together and put some wins up.

Go, Canucks, GO!!!!!

I think the retaining part is more about cap hit than actual dollar value. Lu cap hit at 5.3M until 2022. So Canucks 'lose' about 800k cap space, and Panthers cap hit on Lu will only be 4.5M.

Lu's contract really wasn't that bad. You guys remember Lundqvist JUST signed an 8.5M cap hit contract that takes him to 2021 this year right...

Goalie controversy? Trade both luongo and schneider!

Ikkaku 03-04-2014 01:19 PM

Well, everybody did call for a big trade LOL

A rebuild was imminent, and you have to start at the core to do that. Every year Gillis tries to change little bits, and all we hear are people complaining about him not doing anything. Now he finally does something (albeit because of the Schneider incident, this becomes a big deal) every is complaining about him making a move.

Now to see whether Edler or Kes gets traded lol

Gh0stRider 03-04-2014 01:20 PM

Luongo: "This caught me off guard. But I'm excited. I'm going home."

Luongo - "Happy for myself and my family, but sad to leave Vancouver."

fliptuner 03-04-2014 01:21 PM

I don't think it's a bad trade at all - just gonna miss Lu.

so.

cliff notes on markstrom and matthias?

spideyv2 03-04-2014 01:36 PM

IIRC, we were trying to pry Matthias out of Florida last year, but they wouldn't budge. IMO, Matthias pans out to be a very good 3rd liner, ala Malhotra. It's too bad the Sedins and Burrows are playing like complete shit this year, otherwise, our line-up wouldn't look so bad on paper.

What's the odds that markstrom wears #1 just so ppl can re-stitch their jerseys lol.. just like how some got kassian on their hodgson jersey :P

m3thods 03-04-2014 01:38 PM

lol I just realized that Luongo will probably never play the outdoor game he so wants.

i dont know why people though his contract is bad. at the end of his contract there will be plenty of bottom feeding teams wanting his caphit to make the capfloor
