Brooksie is even more stupid than Gallagher Posted via RS Mobile |
Is Eriksson backing up Eddie then? If so, how did they get him into Vancouver so quickly after the trade announcement? Edit: Canucks.com just tweeted moments after my post |

Somebody please school me on when the Gillis hate started please? I don't follow hockey much anymore so when did he come from smart/savvy to dumb/moronic? (I realise the Schneider deal was weird but what else?) |

Also he was a player agent before, so that in itself was weird |
^In my opinion, starting from the Hodgson trade? |

^Basically the CoHo trade. But tough to have a player on the team that doesn't want to be on it. People in this city still think that he is the second-line center that the team is looking for, but refuse to believe that CoHo didn't want to be here anymore because he was behind Sedin and Kesler. All downhill from there (seeing how Booth panned out, Schneider, Pauhlsson, Roy, ten trillion NTCs, and now Luongo). |

and he's very condescending in interviews. although on 1040 today he came across much more humble. |
^It depends who he's on with. I find on the Afternoon show with BMac and Donny he's pretty funny. One time it was an interview with LG as MG was "unavailable", and the line of questioning for LG prompted him to keep responding "you know I can't answer that". MG then came on the line and helped out LG. It was a hilarious exchange that you don't see often. If I were him, I wouldn't take the morning show seriously (and he already disparaged Moj, so he won't take him as seriously). But I can see how he comes across as arrogant. |

Not Re-signing Ehrhoff Trading Coho for Kassian Trading Schnieder for Horvat now this Posted via RS Mobile |

AV didn't like CoHo and MG backed the coach. |
Having Ballard got us to the final and Grabner is essentially a bust after that one good year Ehroff didnt perform in the finals and wanted $$$ Coho didnt want to be here [maybe due to managements approach] but IMO him VS Kassian is almost a wash and i think Kassian has some good upsides Goalie situation was a fuck up and alot of these "filler" moves didnt work out I'll give Gillis more credit than most for building the 2011 team, almost any GM can take over a good team, it takes savy moves to put the right peices in place to get over that hump and into the finals However, the way management and ownership has treated situations in the past 2 years has left a sour taste in my mouth |
Source on Sedins asking for more playing time? Crow put them in a second line spot from the start of their career. You're telling me that they demanded time ahead of the West Coast Express? I find that hard to believe. When AV arrived they were essentially the first line from then on. And was MG supposed to fire AV for the sake of a player who doesn't carry a lot of weight in the NHL? It's not like CoHo was Crosby at the time. Part of the Canucks MO is to provide autonomy from owner to GM, and from GM to coach. Otherwise you get situations like Edmonton where the higher-ups meddle in team affairs too much. That's why MG "did nothing" to defend CoHo. AV made the mistakes, and MG accommodated CoHo's request. Playing time was the last straw with CoHo/AV. Don't forget AV called him out when he was really injured. MG couldn't do anything there either. Like I said- MG isn't having the best track record currently especially after the goalie debacle. But you guys are free to suggest better replacements for the job. Like I mentioned earlier, Francesco won't hire one of the "old-boys", so you're going to get another new-style GM coming back (with new ideas, much like MG had when he started out). |
Bob McKenzie also RT'd this earlier today |
Vanek going to ducks? possible.... |
lol Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo are teammates |
Its already been stated that Vanek has been traded to the Sharks. *edit* Apparently not til tomorrow now. Snow is sleeping on where he goes. |
wow. absolutely wow. We got nothing out of that luongo deal except for cap relief. Couldn't they just have bought out Booth instead. |
enjoy canucks.... |

The TSN panel was talking about how Torts and MG mishandled the situation on the weekend with the Heritage Classic thus Luongo wanting out and being traded today. Torts also took the A away from Kesler this year, which no doubt pissed him off. Two dumb decisions will drive 2 of our players out of here. |
