What stations will be airing Canucks game this upcoming season?

I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth getting the sports package with Telus.
I think the essentials come with CBC HD.
I barely watch TV though...

Majority of the Canucks' games this season should be on Sportsnet. Not sure about how many games will be on TSN this coming season.

15 games will be on CBC this year with one of those being the Heritage Classic which will also be aired on RDS and NBC as well.

Not sure how many on TSN yet but should be under 10.

The rest will be on RDS.

I only got the HD sports package to watch the canucks, every single game that isn't on CBC will be on Sportsnet or TSN which is part of the package.

So the Canucks just emailed me on instructions on how to buy my Heritage Classic Tickets. Here's an image of the seating + prices that were provided in those instructions. Not sure if these are the final prices or not but they did note that the upper bowl has better sight lines and that the prices will match the site lines.

Anyone listening to the Team today has probably already heard about this, but could be huge for us Canucks' fans.

Portland Trail Blazers chief confirms Paul Allen?s interest in NHL | ProHockeyTalk

Quote:

Before the Phoenix Coyotes struck a deal to keep them in Glendale for at least the next five years, the city of Portland, Oregon, was, according to one report, seriously in the mix to land the financially troubled franchise.

Today, in the Portland Tribune, Trail Blazers President/CEO Chris McGowan confirmed that report, suggesting that billionaire owner Paul Allen (pictured) is intrigued at the thought of adding an NHL team to his pro sports portfolio that already includes an NBA franchise (the Blazers) an NFL team (the Seattle Seahawks), and an MLS club (Seattle Sounders).

McGowan says the Blazers “never made an offer” for the Coyotes, but that an extensive market analysis convinced Allen the NHL in Portland would be a positive move.

“I never got the sense that Paul wasn’t interested in the NHL,” McGowan says. “Paul has always been interested in things that are good for Portland and the arena. It’s our job to bring opportunities to Paul. The NHL is just one of those. Our analysis led us to believe that potentially a team could work here. We were in the mix when it related to Portland as a potential option, but it didn’t work out, so it becomes moot.”

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly has since said that the league is “very intrigued by the Pacific Northwest” and “to the extent expansion comes into the picture or relocation is needed, I’m sure the Pacific Northwest is going to get serious consideration.”

While it’s been Seattle that’s received the most attention so far as Pacific Northwest cities and NHL expansion/relocation are concerned, you have to think the league would love to add an owner with pockets as deep as Allen’s.

seattle better get it before portland does... the new seattle proposal is pretty much done and looks pretty sick

they could just expand to seattle and portland in the same year. bring up to 32 teams total, 16 in each conference. that would be ideal since there's only 14 in the west next year.

hotshot1 08-02-2013 01:47 PM

I'd rather have teams move to other cities or fold altogether than add more teams. IMO the quality of hockey will suffer even more. I think 28 teams is perfect.

Not really racist! 08-02-2013 02:18 PM

no way...expanding when theres franchises struggling? no thx Jeff

relocation alone could change the landscape

There's so much more money in the pool with Quebec getting another team. Florida is so shitty hopefully they are the one to move to Quebec and Phx to Seattle.

Some people on HFboards suggesting that Houston might even get a team :heckno:

TPMarko 08-02-2013 02:52 PM

32 or 28 teams, doesn't matter. i just want that seattle team for canucks road trip.
