there was a coach that used to coach out of Surrey Rec, Dennis Johnson, the guy plugged his video as hard as he coached but that Bure Bure song/bure compliation was part of his training video lol

I knew Dennis and his son really well, Dennis Johnson Hockey school he never really coached tho just mainly teaching power skating. I think I still have the Bure VHS laying around some where.

I went to Dennis Johnson power skating classes as a kid at the Newton Arena back when I played rep hockey as a kid. Yeah, I remember him skating the crap out of us and having us do all sorts of insane edge work. Can't deny that although I hated the work going through it, I'm certain he converted hundreds of kids in to stronger skaters (myself included).

Funny to hear a blast from the past be brought up on the forum.

I remember when he was clean cut, he looks like such a hippie now hahahaha

Dunno, Dennis always walked around with a scowl on his face so as a kid I always thought he was kind of a jerk.. maybe he was just trying to look more like a hockey player since his background was figure skating? :lol

yes he does, Nigel is now married with a couple of kids, he was goalie and I was on his team a number of years.

unfortunately fans like that probably encompass most of the hockey market. and its these fans who end up funding the franchise.

and last year vs San Jose, for fuck sakes Luongo should have started game 4 against SJS. dumbass move by management and the coach to stick Scheider in instead for what it appears to be political reasons when Lu was clearly the better minder headed for that game

I believe we have one of the worst media in the NHL.

They hype and guess and say so much crap just to stir the pot and create some sort of attention for themselves.

Example.

Luongo changes agent.

Media: OMG!! Luongo doesn't want to play in Vancouver. Wants the management to look for a new team. What does this mean?? Please answer our daily poll question brought you by ________....

Then you have the casual fans who never really pays attention to the team listens to them and believe what they "think" is absolute truth and tell others...LUONGO IS LEAVING!!!

Vancouver sports media just love spinning Canucks news to improve their ratings, and profitability. They are not quite the level of TMZ or the paparazzi. Nonetheless, we have some bottom feeder trolls that write crap about the Canucks. Debbie Downers! :drama:

Much of the news about the Canucks gets magnified ten fold when Vancouver is, no offense to the BC Lions and the Whitecaps, a hockey town.

That Tweet gives me the feeling that Lu is gonna come in and conduct business as usual.

He's already the best goalie we've ever had and by far. I hope he gets his jersey retired someday.
