They had some giant baked oysters and crab legs, but they never refilled the crab legs while I was there. There was quite a bit of stuff. This video below shows most of what was available yesterday. Couldn't find any better video on YouTube. There was a crap ton of shrimp dishes. Walnut shrimp, garlic shrimp, deep fried shrimp, etc. I love shrimp, so I ate a lot of that, lol. The deep fried chicken wings were also BOMB. |
Ok that's it, I'm trying this place out next time I'm in Bellingham. Those options look pretty legit. How much does it cost? |
We paid $20 yesterday per adult. It's all day dinner on the weekends, so it's more expensive but there are extra items available. At 0:22 of the video, there's a full price menu. Based on what I saw in the video, that person probably went for a weekday lunch visit since it's a little different than what was available yesterday. |
wAnderful Buffet is its own building close to Michael's Kitty corner to Walmart. Bevmo, Taco Bell, etc. I noticed they got new roof. Looks good. I went once to the buffet in Bellis Fair. Next to Target. I imagine they're gone. Super Buffet, lol. I went once. Can't remember how it was............. that good. 40 years ago, my friends and I used to go to this buffet style restaurant called Kovaks? It was one of the only one around back then. Located further south. Around Lakeside Exit. Update: Frick. Didn't know they moved to Bellis Fair. NVM, Bellingham Mall (wherever that is). https://www.google.com/search?client...id:YYoonwC0UP4 |

I get him to pickup packages for me at the border during his little Chuckanut rides, he was talking about how back in the day you could even cross the border without an ID/Passport. It was so common for folks who lived near 0 Ave so simply walk across and visit each other, if you needed to come back via the border crossing the guards would pretty much know you lived on the other side and pass you through. What a different world. |

I was at the Hon's in Richmond eons ago when my kids were still little. This one guy was so frustrated with getting no service that he picked up his rice bowl and threw it like an Ohtani fastball at one of the servers. My wife had to restrain me, because I was going to clock this little shit. I so hate it when customers treat servers and workers poorly. My wife always knew when to grab my arm and sit me back down. From chef/cooks to bus boys and hostess', nobody deserves to be mistreated. It's such a crazy business. I recall calling out this chump at Burger King for threatening a very young worker. The kid was terrified. I started to grab the guy and as soon as he saw the look on my face, he knew to back off. The staff thanked me later. They really can't defend themselves even if they want to. Anyway................. |

I remember driving down with my dad to Point Roberts in high school to pick up some custom audio amplifier in an Altoids can, lol. Back then they only wanted to see a driver's license. I didn't drive yet so I had no ID. Shit, I'm getting old. |

Shoulda eaten her cooch instead |
Does anyone know if the washrooms near the Peace Arch Border crossing are open? One of my American nieces and her friends were driving to Vancouver from Seattle during the BC Day long weekend. She and her friends did not know it was a long weekend for us Canadians. They end up waiting over two hours to cross the border because they got to Peach Arch by noon. She could not go pee for a couple of hours. LUL Signs at the washrooms: "temporarily closed". If only my niece told me earlier that she was visiting me and my family. "Surprise! We're in front of your house!" -calls my phone. I'm glad that she did not pay $64.95 for a Day Pass for that tourist trap, Capilano suspension bridge. -told her to go to Lynn Valley next time for the free bridge haha. Rookie mistake. |
So apparently Trader Joes has this really good frozen kimbap. Anyone try or seen it at Bellingham? |

Fuck, some people are retarded............. actually, this person falls under the category of fucktard (one notch up the scale - just below full on). I went to pick up a package at 24/7 Parcel. It was around 8:00 Am. On the road was a huge ass cardboard container. From what it looked like, it was a 4 foot by 4 foot box for a framed picture or poster. Anyway, not on the sidewalk, but right where people park. The dumb thing was, the stupid woman left the label with all the shipping info and her name on the box. How stupid is that? Okay, full on................. More ammunition for Washingtonians to hate on us canadians. |
Oh, here's what I picked up today.................. https://mofi.com/products/kc-and-the...6f845caf&_ss=r Analog to analog to lathe............damn! Limited and numbered copy. MoFi, BTW, mail albums out in proper containers. Exactly the way I received my Fleetwood Mac Rumours 45 RPM LP from Music Direct. According to reddit members, when you order an album from Target oe Walmart, they put the LP in a big box with no packing material. One member received an album in a freaking bag. A bag!!! |
Most likely asked and answered, but do you declare shipping costs at the border? |
I used to not include shipping costs in the price I declare to the CBSA officer. And then one time the guy straight up told me I need to declare the total costs of getting the goods into my hands, or I'd be making a fraudulent declaration and that he'd confiscate my stuff. Been declaring the whole costs after that ever since... |
Meanwhile, just earlier in August I showed the cashier at Point Roberts my invoice and asked them to take the total minus shipping, so I was charged PST & GST on the price of the item only. Granted, the cashier is not the same as the CBSA officer... |
So I went down to PR to pick up some stuff, and filled up with US Shell 92. Paid with credit card + Fuel Rewards discounts. After conversion and everything, it worked out to be Cdn $2.22/L. They do offer a bigger discount had I paid with cash. But as far as paying with credit card is concerned, I am not even sure whether that is cheaper than just buying gas locally. |
I always tell them something along the lines of "I just went to pick up some packages. It's about XXX before shipping. I have the invoices if you need to see them." If they want to know the total with shipping, they'll ask. No one has ever asked me though and I've brought stuff back as high as $400 declared without getting taxed. The last few times I went to PR, I found that the gas in Tsawwassen was almost the same price. I don't bother checking PR anymore. I do fill up when I go to Bellingham though because the premium at Costco is cheaper than the regular here. |
Too bad murd0c kicked his ex-gf to the curb. Could have asked her................... I recall someone mention shipping is not counted, but taxes are. |
