I was just checking on GasBuddy today. The reporting time was pretty recent (at the time) with most stations in roughly the same price range, so I figure the prices should be reasonably accurate.

I've used shippsy.com a couple times this year. Pickup is in Richmond in an industrial park SE of the Knight Street Bridge and Home Depot.

I've only had small orders that had no taxes or duty, so I can't vouch for that experience.

From their website:
$6.99 / per package

Discount
When you request 3 or more packages on the same day, you get 25% off the total handing fee
$6.99/ per package

Plus additional 25% off
Shippsy fee covers brokerage and transportation
Tax & duty still applicable
3% transaction fee on import duty & taxes
Complimentary storage up to 30 days
Packages over 10lb will incur +$0.35/lb for every lb up to 100lbs.
Anything over 100lbs must be received as a skid.

Some habits are hard to shake and break............ the ArriveCAN no longer allows you the choice to input your info for land travel.

I'm gonna miss the little thorn in the back of the neck.

oh well........... all good things must come to an end..................... NOT.

Just curious where their ship to address is? (I'm assuming in WA?) Seems like a missed opportunity if they don't have a ship to location in OR to take advantage of the 0% sales tax.

Just signed up for 24/7 in Blaine, seems kinda expensive, a small is $3.5 and they only have free package holding for 7 days, each day after is $0.5. but I'm hoping gas is cheaper in Bellingham to make up for it?

whitev70r 10-06-2022 08:19 AM

Although I've never visited on the same day, I find Point Roberts the most expensive ... which kind of makes sense. Sometimes Bellingham is even more expensive than Blaine gas stations.

On the bright side, you get to drive down late night to grab a package without any traffic. I feel like it more than makes up for the fee increase. With the FX rate, it's like a $5.00 CAD fee for a small package. :eek5:

JDMDreams 10-07-2022 08:35 AM

Is the traffic to Blaine actually better? I usually cross at truck crossing when I go to the real US. And there's always a line. I thought pr was always faster cuz it's only ppl picking up packages and not for real travel so the guards are a bit more slack. what's the dead times to cross to Blaine?

Don't do the Truck Crossing, 90% of the time Peace Arch is better especially with Nexus. Usually any time after 8PM is line-up free on the weekdays, on the weekends go late like 10-11PM to avoid lines.

68style 10-07-2022 10:31 AM

Well I mean... of course PR is better... they're not even comparable volume wise

Just that PR is not convenient for most people to get to.

I've crossed after it got cancelled, but through the nexus lane.

Anything to declare?

Gas and groceries

Value of the goods?

$110 USD

Have a nice day.

68style 10-15-2022 05:02 PM

You can’t even fill out ArriveCAN anymore for land crossing. It only allows air travel submissions now.

I did once. No issues, back to normal it seems.

Crossed back last week at Peach Arch. Just the regular quick questions. Where did you go? How long were you gone for? Do you have anything to declare?

It probably helped that my wife and I are slightly chubby nerdy looking asians in a clean vehicle.

JDMDreams 10-17-2022 06:42 AM

Crossed yesterday seems like things are back to normal :alonehappy:

Badhobz 10-17-2022 07:03 AM

It does seem pretty normal now. Regular lane was clogged to shit on saturday, like a good 1-2h wait while we sailed through in Nexus with only a 2-3 minute wait and no questions asked.

Closing those nexus offices really hampered renewals and new applicants.

sdubfid 10-22-2022 09:18 AM

Can I use my expired nexus if it has renewal conditional approval?

twitchyzero 10-25-2022 06:37 PM

yes

meme405 10-25-2022 07:01 PM

Hopped the border today to grab a package, was the deadest i've ever seen Pac Hwy. Literally there was no cars.

I can see why as well, got 250 bucks USD and it was 350 CAD at 1.40 exchange.

Pumped diesel, but realistically only ~0.30 cents/liter cheaper.

syee 10-26-2022 08:27 AM

FX is definitely a major factor. I was down last weekend, and coming back into Canada on Sunday evening, the border was dead. Not a single person in line. The line going to the US, the line was backed up pretty far back. Americans definitely coming up to take advantage of the favourable exchange.

Gas was $4.85 at Blaine for Regular which converts to $1.73/L. Not that huge a savings. Bellingham all the way to Seattle was $5.29 for regular ($1.88/L). Who would have thought Vancouver would have cheaper gas than the US?

twitchyzero 10-26-2022 02:17 PM

4.3 costco
but yeah crazy how the gap went from 80c to 30c in a few weeks

MG1 10-26-2022 05:22 PM

The gap is going to widen a bit as of tonight/tomorrow morning.

Costco Bellingham consistently has the lowest prices on gas. Plus, Tier 1 gas, to boot. Casino prices, with the member pricing, is similar, but I wouldn't trust any gas from them.

MG1 11-22-2022 10:38 AM

Weirdest thing happened at the border crossing going back into Canada Monday mid day. Nexus lane. Only one lane, but nobody in the lineup. I get there and this border guard comes out from his booth and just looks at me. Just looks and doesn't speak. I said hi, but no answer. A few awkward moments later, I tell him where I went and why, told him the amount and that was it. He finally said, "You can go." Three words from a border guard - that's a first, lol.

underscore 12-04-2022 08:46 AM

It's not strictly the border, but is there anywhere to get food after going through US security at YVR?
