I came back from Bellingham yesterday and i forgot to fill out my arrivecan for me my wife n kid. The border lady gave us a warning saying we get 1 exemption which we were using now and next time itll be a 14 day mandatory quarantine. |

I can see it being an app to collect the contact information of travelers so they can be notified if a major outbreak occurred on their flight or whatever. But it no longer makes sense that we need to submit EVERY time we go out of country. |

i was told the same last week through nexus fuck arrivecan for day trips...i hate to say it but the conspiracy crazies were right about it being permanent |
See it's really strange, I obviously have filled out ArriveCan every single time I even crossed the border for even 10 minutes to grab a package from PR... I have probably crossed about 30 times since we were able to... and I have only been asked if I filled out ArriveCan twice ever. And both times they accepted an audible "Yes" answer, no proof asked. So can they see that you have or not? Are they just asking to see what you say if it matches what they have? I really don't get it. Their language about it had suggested to me in the past that they don't see it... but that could be just typical border guard shit pretending they don't know anything to try to catch you in something. Logically, it does seem odd to ask you if you have filled it out if they can see that you have... there's no lie to catch you in... so I have my doubts whether they actually can or not. I have seen several old people get jobbed in front of me in the line, including them stopping some super old lady who had no idea how to download an app and was just furious... so did they actually see she hadn't filled it out or did she go "What's that?" or "No?" to the question? |

I kept saying to you guys -- the Feds will want to keep it, it's useful information easily obtained within one data source about a traveler's comings and goings from the country, notably their intended port of entry. |

Why do they ever ask if you filled it in then if you already have? Bizarre. It’s like asking if you have a passport after you already handed it to them. |
Now it’s simply for either A) collecting data or B) the govt. was so incompetent and spent so much money on this app they are trying to justify the expense |
^^ when has any government been efficient:accepted: |
Crossed peach arch today with the gf, did not ask about arrivecan :Probably because like mikemhg said, it's linked to passport? The gf filled both of ours out |

The guy at the border was super chill though - I rolled up to the booth and the first think he said was "Hi, have a good day". Don't even think my car made a full stop at that point lol |
I believce there's a Nexus thread but this thread is more active and it's still relative. Anyone renew during the pandemic and have the 2 year to get an interview expire on them? My wife and daughter came and went but nothing on the website indicates their status has changed. Just did a search for interviews in Washington for any availability within the next 12 months and only Minnesota came up as a place having any time lol |

Out of curiosity, how long did you wait for your renewal to proceed to the interview stage? I submitted my renewal a few months ago and it's still showing "Pending" status. |
For me and my wife it was less than a week. I think for me it was like 2-3 days. The longest part was finding an interview spot. At the time the earliest i found was like in 8 months in Maine |
Wow! :ahwow: You both got lucky. I'm on my third or fourth renewal and it usually gets approved in two or three days. This pending renewal phase for me is unprecedented. None of my renewals have ever involved an interview. |

Ah wells we don't plan to travel especially not the US any time soon and we actually now have 3 interviews to do (wife, daughter, son) and getting all 3 done would be a nightmare. The only thing on our horizon is Japan again maybe in a few years and you dint use nexus for that anyway. |

My previous renewals were quick - Renewed online and almost immediately approved and card mailed in two weeks w/o interview. I think because I moved/changed addresses within the past year, they want to validate all the information. |

So I crossed the PR border yesterday with my "expired" Nexus card with zero issues. The card is "expired" in the sense that only the card is expired (as my birthday has passed) and I have yet to receive a new card despite having successfully renewed Nexus. On the US TTP website, my Nexus status is "approved" and there is no indication that I will need an interview of any sort. The only thing is -- I still haven't received a new Nexus card with a new expiry date despite having my renewal approved for many months. Since the card still works -- it is accepted by the RFID device on both the US and Canadian side, I am just gonna keep using it until they mail me a new card LOL~ |
Been about 5 months and my nexus application is still pending :( |
