^ been asked multiple times, the answer is no unless you can convince the border guard you had to retrieve supplies

yeah you're good.

let us know how it goes.

^That's not confusing^

I'm not sure how you could convince a border guard you have to retrieve supplies that you couldn't get here or have shipped to Canada.

Only Point Roberts AFAIK + a bunch of other similarly isolated communities the last time I checked. Might be different now. Blaine is a no-go because it's on the mainland.

Wonder if you have a covid positive pcr from a 3rd country (over 10 days). Can you enter Canada from usa (Blaine crossing)?
Canada accepts covid positive over 10 days. (3rd country being not usa) + vaccination cert

Apparently it's over 15 days from a positive PCR test.

Who is exempt from arrival testing

Already recovered: Travellers who provide a positive COVID-19 molecular pre-entry test result, conducted at least 15 and no more than 180 days (starting January 15, 2022, between 11 and 180 days ago) before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border crossing, are exempt from arrival testing
Travellers arriving by boat
Children under the age of 5

Crew and essential service providers already exempt from arrival testing continue to be exempt

I did manage to cross at Pt.Roberts without issue the other day, so I've rerouted all packages there for now.

blkgsr 01-12-2022 08:12 AM

so if i had a PCR test done 11 days ago (just picking a number) then you don't require another PCR test within 72 hours like they've been saying?

Rallydrv 01-12-2022 08:36 AM

^ positive that is. (And I believe one of the interviews they said pcr needs to be done in a different country than Canada for enter)

Also strange. Just yesterday it said 10 days starting Jan 15/2022. Now it says 11 days.

The border guard at PR told me this morning that it's totally fine to cross at Blaine for parcel pickups (without PCR test). As nice as that is to hear, I think I'll stick to PR for the time being as the drive is just about the same time for me.

djm 01-16-2022 09:27 AM

Went through boundary bay crossing to Point Roberts only for parcels; no issues returning back / no PCR needed

I think the fact that PR allows it and Peace Arch seems to be doing a case-to-case manner just creates so much confusion. When I have time, I'm going to drive to Peace Arch CBSA and see what's their actual official take on this as I have a few packages at 5D from BF/Xmas shopping that arrived late.

I wouldn't say they are "essential supplies", but what actually counts? PR doesn't seem to give a crap about what package you pick up. And if by essential supplies, that means I can drive down to Bellingham to get some TJ goodies, that's not an issue at all.

Shades 01-16-2022 09:59 PM

Please let us know as I also have packages at 5D. Thanks.

Anyone gone down to pr recently? I'm planning to go down so, so just need arrive can? Do you need your vaccine card, qr code?

68style 02-03-2022 01:36 PM

You need to fill out ArriveCAN and pick Boundary Bay (YDT) as your crossing…. And yes you must bring at least a printout of your federal vaccination record or have it accessible on your phone.

I have only had them look at it once, usually they just verbally ask if you’re vaccinated or not.

CivicBlues 02-03-2022 03:17 PM

Do the US or CAN guards care if you have no real purpose visiting? Or can you just say I want cheap gas and have a look around?

twitchyzero 02-03-2022 03:23 PM

it's a tiny loop in the middle of winter, they expect you're mostly there for just that

They don't care. do your ArriveCan in Vancouver before you leave, that way you don't need to use data down there. Your vaccine info is uploaded into ArriveCan so they already know your status.

They always want to know why you’re going down, I am always going to pick up a parcel so that’s what I answer.

I’m not convinced the border guards can see ArriveCAN, I’ve been asked questions that led me to believe they can’t see it and they have even asked me IF I filled it out beforehand but never asked for the resulting QR code.

PR has coverage on Rogers/Fido all the way to the Marketplace, a bit spotty but still there.

BIC_BAWS 02-03-2022 06:51 PM

I went on the 30th. CBSA didn't even ask for my ArriveCan. She told me it was linked to my Nexus LOL.

Both ways I just said getting gas LOL.

I just filled the arrive can, am I supposed to fill it this early? Planning to go on the weekend. It's asking if I've been tested, all the shot dates and the travel dates. So you just get a qr code at the end and you screen shot it?

jesus man its not that hard.

literally every post above yours: "just have it done before you cross back."

68style 02-03-2022 09:20 PM

It says on the 3rd page of filling out ArriveCAN to only fill it out if your return date is within 72 hours.

It only asks your shot info the first time, after that it’s saved and you don’t need to fill it out again.

essel 02-04-2022 09:45 PM

I've crossed to PR a few times in the last month - always just filled the ArriveCAN app shortly before crossing. No issues crossing each time, they never even asked for passports lol.

They can. It's linked to your passport.

JDMDreams 02-05-2022 06:49 PM

Mmmmm $1 a liter gas, yea besides the arrive can glitching out sometimes it went smoothly. Us didn't care about going down, just verbally asked if you're vaccinated. They can definitely see if you did the arrive can at the booth. Cuz they can see arrive can wasn't done properly.
