Yup. The US Costco's had that cool, crank handled, dispenser. I loved cranking' that handle. Moving the hot dog side to side. I would remove the wiener, lay down some ketchup and mustard, so the onions had something to stick to. Wiener back on top, then layers of onions between more ketchup and moutard. I was so desperate today, I sprinkled some grated parmesan on the hot dog. Okay, drowned it with the powdered cheese. It wasn't great, but not disgusting. Next time, get some deep fried crispy onions from Trader Joe's............ Best part of today, was to get my fill of "Pink Slime." Jack in her Box 2 taco's for $1.29, ftmfw! That shit is pretty good, as far as shit goes. I'm gonna pay for it tomorrow, hee hee. |
FYI ....cuz things are always changing in terms of rules, for those of you who have kiddies. https://www.delta-optimist.com/local...oberts-5231760 |
I don’t think you can even request onions anymore can you? |

Would have gone further to Bellingham but had to get back fast for work...no issues coming back through . credit Card bill after conversions/etc $155.74cdn so about $1.61/Litre premium QUESTION: seems that this exxon has a pump shutoff at 25gallons - any way around that? https://i.imgur.com/FjSU8oh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rXqhN9x.jpg |

ArriveCan app Ripped over to point roberts to pick up a parcel last night so i filled out and submitted the stuff in the app and it gave me a QR code to show the border guard. Was a painless trip since i went at 7pm. Was the only car heading in and was the only car heading out. The guard asked how long I was there, purpose, value of items I'm bringing back etc. At no point did he ask to even see tge QR code for proof. When I submit the form does it update to my passport info when he scans my passport? Or did he really just not care? 😂 |
They can see it, but they just don’t give a shit (unless it’s not filled out). I’ve been up and down to PR countless times and never been asked to see it… but I have seen someone get reamed out for not having done it. |
I’m flying out to LA on Tuesday. I paid $20 to some stupid company in Alberta to video call me Monday night and watch me do a rapid test for 15 minutes so they can give me a PDF to show to the USA border people if they want to see it. Such a dumb money grab. |

They offer $5 per extra person tested which is better than the other services, still a cash grab though. |

US border guards don’t wear masks. This one guy sticks his head in my car to see what’s in the middle row seat. All this while asking questions. I could have kissed him he was so close. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen an American female border guard. Not one that was memorable, gulolol. Like the gals on the Canadian side. Wow, we’ve got some cuties. Anyway, on the Canada side, the border guards respect the driver, wear masks, and keep their distance. They’re required to wear masks, but still keep a good distance from the driver. Kudos to our guards. I, to this day, have never seen an American $50.00 bill. I won some money at the Silver Thief and went to cash in my winnings. I asked for $100.00 bills. Just three, in case people start to think I’m all baller, lol. I got a fresh $50.00 bill. Cashier says they don’t get too many at the casino. I sort of knew they existed but have only ever seen hundred and twenty dollar bills, along with usual ten, fin, and Gorgeous George. Oh, talked to the lady who’s worked at the Costco Deli in Bellingham since day one and she says not in at least a year will we see the $700.00+ dispenser. Just finishing up the Costco hot dog at the Custer Rest Area. Nothing worse than getting crappy American ketchup all over the place. |
^Come to think of it, you're right. Can't say I've ever seen a female US border guard. Very odd. |
I have. Nothing to write home about but they do exist. |
Okay so I crossed over to Blaine at the truck crossing to pick up a package, and I don’t know if he was doing it as a lark but I had an Australian US CBP border guard??? Accent was thicker than Daniel Ricciardo??! His tag says Harvey if you guys ever get him. |
Many many years ago when I was a teenager I took the train from Toronto to Chicago. The train stopped at the border in Sarnia,ON/Port Huron,MI and the US Immigration officers came aboard to check our passports. One of them I thought was a pretty cute Asian chick. I don't even think this train even runs any longer but I still remember her coming aboard with her tight ass ponytail and uniform. Guess I was a pretty horny kid (still am). |
If you're going south on a weekday, 7:00 am is a good time to go. Shift change is at 7:00. They go from one to two, sometimes three lanes at 7:00 am. I got to Peace Arch at 6:50. Two cars ahead of me, but within five minutes, the line became 8 cars long. I was too far in to switch over to the second lane. Anyway, this family in a rental car in front of me couldn't start their car. Border agent wasn't sure what to do. I had my NOCO GB-70 in the trunk, so I offered to jump start the car. Driver had left the headlights on with engine off while the car ahead was being checked over. Long ass time. Anyway, border agent thanked me. I told him I didn't want to wait any longer than I needed to. You'd figure cars with dead batteries are a common thing. Just like Drive-in Movie Theatres have jump started on the ready. |
Years ago I crossed at the Truck Crossing with my CBR600 and unbeknownst to me I had forgotten to screw down my positive terminal on the battery properly... it would intermittently lose contact... wouldn't start after they checked me at the booth... guy told me it happens all the time with bikes and told me to pull ahead and talk to the dude sitting with the chase car for runners... that guy helped me find a spot where I could take a running start with the bike in neutral pushing it and jump on/pop the clutch and start it haha... good times... not sure what would happen nowadays everything is so much more serious now. |
Few years back I coerced a buddy to join me to meet a guy from Portland "halfway" to pick up a muffler. Halfway down an exhaust gasket blew out and caused my AFR gauge to read catastrophic meltdown mode. Limped down, got the muffler in Longview, WA (aka. NOT halfway to Portland, basically all the way there :lol ) and stopped by the local harbour freight to grab tools to diagnose. Stopped at Applebee's for dinner to procrastinate the inevitable disappointing prodding. At midnight under the brightest light post in the parking lot popped the manifold off to find the toast gasket. Nothing to do except button it back up and limp it back home thing sounding like a tractor. Anyway, re: border crossing thread, got to the booth at 4am, both of us exhausted. Guard sees muffler stuffed in backseat, chuckles a bit at our misadventure from noticing the bags under our eyes and waves us through. As the car sounded like garbage I had shut it off at the booth to be courteous. Turn the key and thing wouldn't start, solenoid must've been stuck. Was an intermittent issue when hot. Sheepishly look at the guard, then back at my buddy, "you're gonna have to push man". So as a good friend he pops out and pushes me away from the booth as CBSA officer is now laughing his ass off, pop the clutch, engine roars back to life. In he jumps in again and off we went. All this to say, guard didn't help push so I guess that seems standard fare WRT mechanical assistance. |
