Finally went into Oroville yesterday (Osoyoos crossing) to get my packages before the border “closes” again. No wait to get into the states but a 10 car line coming home took quite some time; guessing people didn’t have their arrivecan docs. We had ~$200 worth of goods and no tax/duty, but I was randomly selected for the virtual at-home covid test which was a pain in the ass with MS Teams glitching this morning. Will find out soon if I’m negative or an asymptomatic carrier! |
I was surprise to see that 5D decided to open today (they had said they were not open Sunday -> Tuesday this month) and a package came for me today so I jetted down there tonight before they closed cuz otherwise I may never get it depending how long this goes on for... Took 2 fucking hours in the lineup to come back. What a pain in the ass. Guy at the booth asked me how long I was gone for and I couldn't hide my disdain "Do you want me to include the 2 hours lineup in that or just the time I was actually getting my package" but he basically ignored what I said. Fucking useless CBSA... oh let's not schedule anymore windows open the last day anyone can somewhat freely cross it will be fine. Zero interest in actual service. |
Don't go pissing them off........... just Saiyan. So you win the prize for being last RS member to cross back before the restrictions go back in place. |
What's my prize? Currently drinking The Rock's ZOA energy drink, it's virtually identical to Red Bull (original flavour anyway) haha Guy at the gas station said like 3 times to let me know which flavour I think is best... not sure how aware he was that I'm Canadian and wouldn't be back anytime soon to tell him lol... |
Do i win a prize for ordering stuff the day before they announced the new restrictions? At this point might as well order a few more things and just have 5d consolidate them into a box and ship up. |

Package express used to (u could pickup at the owners house in abby) but due to the hassle of brokerage paperwork I think they now only offer their new service where they'll order what u want for you, and you can pick it up in abby. Or u can just pay to have them forward it to you from the states, but it's annoying bcuz the packages get shipped back to settle or even further south, before making their way back north |
Whoa damn~! My wish is granted, I guess? |
gonna be risky for the first few dozens that crosses over if youre expecting them to follow the fine print of a 600 page document lol |
Yah I’m gonna give it a couple weeks for them all to figure it out before I try that one |
This link should be enough for the CBSA agents? :D (scroll down to the "In British Columbia" section https://www.canada.ca/en/border-serv...-columbia.html |
|
the official document suggests it's only for people affected by the floods...cbc reports it as any fully vaccinated BC residents MG1 go try the casinos tomorrow ..worst thing is you'll have to stay there for 2 weeks surviving off costco samples :troll: |
These are not the same as what Traum posted at all. What Traum posted is that isolated parts of the USA are exempt from the federal mandate. These other links are talking about the flood victims getting supplies clause. |
Here's official correspondence - it's on the discretion of the border guards https://www.canada.ca/en/border-serv...-columbia.html Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk |
i'm just saying the cbc article is misleading without testing: isolated communities like PR/Hyder: allowed <72hrs Mainland US: allowed only for BC flood victims <24hrs for shopping only for buying things not available/difficult to buy within Canada |
I just saw that on CBC and I was confused too. I still haven't picked up my stuff at pr. I was gonna order Christmas stuff there too, good thing I didn't. |
I've had my fill of crossing the border. Good for another two years. |
As I was making my way down to the Lynden/Aldergrove border crossing on Sunday, I remembered always passing this creepy place on Guide Meridian. I had forgotten about the place until Sunday. I didn't go out of my way to look for it, but I never saw it. I did a google search for clowns and Bellingham. Giggles the Clown - Christmas is just around the corner! Book your special visit with Santa! Santa arrives and reads a Christmas story, hands out candy canes, photo opportunity while each child tells Santa their wishes!! Holy muhammad, who would go to a place like that? Clowns. They is creepy as fuck. From memory, the place always looked very, very creepy. Nothing bright and colourful as the photos on the webpage. Any RS members ever been there? |
MG1, I'm gonna get you a singing telegram. |
Did you say Stripogram? I guess it depends on who you send.................. BTW, Giggles doesn't go north of the 49th. |
PR is good. Crossed this morning with no issues. Not going to chance mainland crossings given the 'discretionary' exemption. |
Thank you sacrificial lamb |
