Their website explicitly says they do not provide forwarding services? Did you have to call in and request?

forsberg5 03-20-2020 04:53 PM

I asked them through email.
The whole process was done through email.
But it should be fine to call in

Whoever is still trying to go to blaine... Border guard turned away so many brown people trying to make their last run for groceries.

By law, it's not close, sure you can find a way to justify or try.. but is it really worth it? Esp we all know they are douchbags.

A married couple lives in Pt Roberts has already left to cali since Pt. Roberts is like butt fuck of an island and will have a tough time if it does close.

24/7 has the option to refuse package... this way you can order from amazon.ca again if that's an urgent item.

Gh0stRider 03-21-2020 04:11 PM

i got 3 packages stuck at 24/7. They said free 30 day storage, but can extend it if needed. I called them prior to the border closure.

rice cooker 03-26-2020 05:15 PM

All packages are free at 24/7 until the borders are open then 30 days free starting on day of opening. Emailed them today

MG1 03-26-2020 07:22 PM

Yeah, I've been with those guys since they opened their doors in Sumas. I was hoping they would step up. BTW, they're owned by Canadians. I run into the owner (one of the owners) here and then. She's cool.

thanks again, rice cooker...............

I thought no more non-essential travel means customs officers won't allow that, even just in Blaine?

you're allowed to ship direct from usa-cad, but be prepared to get raped in broker/governement fees and taxes..

do not use UPS
ordered
$60usd fishing lure
$20usd shipping
$37cad in duties......
WutFace

underscore 04-16-2020 01:20 PM

^ $30USD parts
$60USD shipping
$45USD brokerage
$135USD total

Always use USPS, there's no mystery fees and half the time they don't bother with taxes.

so true,i had a package valued at like 400 dollars and size of a microwave coming from usa...

No Tax,No bullshit fees.

Special K 04-16-2020 07:16 PM

$230 usd package
$30 usd ship
$135 cad owed to DHL

What’s stupid is that the sales tax is applied to value of the item + applicable duties. That’s tax on tax!!

forsberg5 04-16-2020 07:57 PM

when 24/7 forwarded my parcels, they used USPS. i wasn't dinged any duties but my parcels were like only about $50 or so.
they'll give you a quote on how much it would cost to forward and which carrier they use. maybe you can specify using USPS.

Retrac 04-16-2020 08:45 PM

Waiting on a package from UPS,

Government taxes $37.80
UPS brokerage fees $44.18

Gh0stRider 04-16-2020 09:06 PM

ive got 3 packages at 24/7. Do i have it forwarded, or wait? lol

Akinari 04-16-2020 09:22 PM

If anyone is using 5dpackages, they're also doing no fees and are offering forwarding as well.

twitchyzero 04-16-2020 10:58 PM

5d is fwding via usps? is it a flat rate? what's the typical wait time after they fwd?

i forgot how garbage the selection of everything in canada is (tried amazon.ca prime for a few weeks :heckno:)...can't complain too much at least more of us are keeping alive :okay:

blkgsr 04-17-2020 07:20 AM

awesome i was trying to figure out if DLH (but from memory the duties were terrible) and who from the other guys were bad or not

USPS for sure then

I'm thinking if I can get all three sent to 5D, if they'll just open the small ones and repackage into the large one then forward up for me

320icar 04-17-2020 08:01 AM

You know, if you don’t want to pay brokerage etc you can go pick it up from ups/fedex, they print out a piece of paper. Take that to a border office (I always went to the airport). Get it cleared through customs and pay duty, then go pick it back up from ups/fedex

I got a quote (seemed a bit steep) from 5d saying they'd charge me $27 USD to forward two plate frames to me :heckno: that's $37 CAD...

Amuse 04-17-2020 09:23 AM

I just cancelled my Amazon.com Prime membership, since it has no use to me now. Shipping with .com to Canada is either expensive or not available.

Rockauto shipping prices to Canada are still reasonable.
I have a question for you guys.

The car part I'm buying is $174.79.
Shipping with International Economy Fedex is $11.99 (2-3 business days)
Economy (Consolidated) is $17.99 (3-10 days) by POST (I guess this is USPS)
Or Priority Mail POST $26.99 (5-15 days)

Fedex looks attractive but would i be dinged with duty fees from Fedex interntional or should I choose Economy (Consolidated) POST?

underscore 04-17-2020 09:58 AM

I've picked all kinds of shipping options from RockAuto and never had a single fee after the fact.

IIRC there are a few dual citizens on here.

They are technically allowed to cross regardless as their constitution right grants them access.

Although they are also "technically" require to quarantine themselves for 14days, but is day-trip still possible for those with dual US-CA passports?

Asking for a buddy who's looking to go to care a senior family member down in Oregon (like once a week or two).

twitchyzero 04-17-2020 01:54 PM

one way maybe but not day-trips

right now they're not even allowing you to cross to see your spouse (they dont care if you have been apart for weeks)

Trump wants to reopen the 49th soon but Canada's probably not ready yet
