987.2 alert, low KMs but PDK: https://www.facebook.com/share/1CZwoCg3E2/ I don't know historic prices on these as I only started setting an alert for them and never see any, so price might be a bit high but given how rare they are maybe thats why? Even my buddy who works at Adesa said none of them have come across their lots in the past few years, which is rare. |
Price is about right; it's high because the 981 has the worst steering in the world. I tracked a GTS on P Zeros so forces should've been high enough to have some meaningful feedback. Instead, that thing was both more dead and lighter than 9G Civic on all season steering. |
987.2's are rare. that was porsche production downturn era. Great cars, even w the PDK. Had a buddy w a lot of cars and a revolving door of sports car brands and models. He said that car was a sleeper forever do everything car in that PDK spec. IMO that's too much $ but they do command a premium. i think I'd rather have a cheaper .1 manual car (EDIT: should note that the .1 caymans are not PDK in 2 pedal form - they are traditional shitty tip autos) |
Isn't that 997 money now |

I'm thinking of moving on to a .1 as a streetable track car and totally okay with IMS bore score and all that other Porsche STDs that come along with it. Bring it on, haters. :fuckyea: Edit: Just for reference, friend of mine who tracks his 987.2 said this: "Mine is a 2009 Cayman S, with 6 speed manual, and 160,000 kms. I paid $43k CAD in August 2023." |
40k you can buy a pretty good m2 can’t you ?! Wouldn’t that be faster than this around the track ? |
The M2 isn't exactly the most exciting car at the track unfortunately. It's good all-rounder, but it's never "great" at anything. |
The M2 is going to be faster in a straight line, and more dori dori (seriously BMW ate a drift pill or something for the F8x cars). The manual transmission in the M2 is going to be a bit clunky. It's got long gears, but I don't think it's nearly as long as Porsche gears. For a very quick car the M2 needs to be DCT. At least you get a much newer car in the M2? Though the more used examples are going start needing things replaced (bushings mainly, and brakes if it's a street car) |
A lot of mini’s are popping up in my algorithm. But this looks like a well equipped countrymanS for a good price. https://www.facebook.com/share/1FPhB...ibextid=wwXIfr |

Is that x1? I thought it was some fwd architecture |
i gotta stop looking at mini's... their whole lineup is growing on me :okay: |
The last gen MY2020+ Countryman JCWs are a sleeper pocket rocket with 300hp. Same with the clubman JCW, but those are pretty rare |
oh ya!! the wagon is nice... but 2020+ and jcw is too expensive. similar to the one above but PHEV https://www.autotrader.ca/a/mini/cou...arch&modalXS=1 |

I've driven most of the not spicy Mini lineup prior to the newest Countryman and Cooper because we leased a Cooper and it was constantly in the shop. I really wanted to like the Clubman as a warm AWD wagon but it's just not very good. We were looking at the Countryman and X1 as well and the X1 was better for slightly more money. |
Yeah the Countryman/Clubman JCW is such a fat L. I think if ur looking for the Cooper S DCT vibe in an SUV.... I have not driven any of these but I would look at: - Kona N - GLA45 - Stelvio QV - Macan S/GTS - X3M - JGC SRT/Trackhawk or Durango SRT/Trackhawk The X3M40i and SQ5 are lukewarm SUVs, 0 spice. Same complaint on 3 series, Volvo, and C300 wagons - only the C43 really has some spice. |
Kona N is dead btw. |

The cars you listed are all not in the same class as a JCW except for the GLA45 and Kona N, nor are they even close to being in the same price bracket. There's really nothing to choose from for a spicy compact SUV. I'd choose the X3M40i though. I think it does have some spice. Most people aren't carving with these cars and our X3 30i was more than capable all of the time. |
Guess i should stop giving the Golf R so much shit - fun-ish compact AWD hatch only got so many options. |
Kona n is dead already? |
Wish it were still alive. That said, I personally enjoy tactile driving feel (steering, brake, damping, etc) of Mach E GT PP and Ioniq 5N (finally tried) to most current so called hot hatch/sporty car. Most of the exhaust noise is pumped in and most steering is more dead on current gas car than these tow EV. |
Sounds like you need a 72 datsun 510 Too many nannies and not enough feels |

I’m on the fence if I still want the coupe, still love the way they look. I test drove the silver one and it was super fun to drive. Very zippy, can handle a spirited drive nicely, great manoeuvrability around the city and parking lots. Only thing that concerns me is that both the ones I’ve checked out are rusty, maybe it’s a problem with these and the coupe only came with the n14 engine which is super problematic. After looking at so many mini’s over the last month, I think a 3rd gen mini cooper jcw will scratch the itch. |
95 stealth, 3500$ collector plated Has to be a fake ad depending how bad those lifters be ticking https://www.facebook.com/share/1EVddNZeGf/ |
https://www.facebook.com/share/15XzeTPRkc/ Seems cheap, for a beetle, cheaper than BMWs and not much more than a mini |
