Having said that, I'm sure BMWs, Mercedes, and Audis from the 00's are safe and have most of those features, but nobody can keep them running on any sort of budget so you basically never see them driving. | There's plenty of E46s and W204s still driving around. I hate Audi's so, I hope those all died. Quote:

| Facts, but you conveninetly looked for E60/F10 550i's.. which are horrendously unreliable. Anyone with half a brain will know not to buy anything 50i. Quote:

I have noticed you never see old GTIs and Rabbits on the roads anymore, haven't seen a Corrado in years. Jettas disappeared completely. Still see Integras and older Civics. | I saw a Corrado yesterday in a random parking lot, as well as a MK2 Jetta convertible. Quote:

I'm cut from a different school of thought where you learn how to drive the car you have, and take to the limit you are comfortable with, or as far as you are willing to. I am of the belief any car can be taken to the track as long as it meets all the safety requirements of the track and through the pre-track day technical inspection at a shop. I think it's fallacy to think that a production car can't, or rather, shouldn't be taken to the track. | You know as well as I do, that's not the point I'm trying to make. Out of the box track car, literally means, you can take it to the track after picking it up from the dealer if you wanted to. Everyone seems to like making excuses like "oh the brakes aren't good enough" or "i need coilovers to track", when evidently it's not the case for ie. CTR.
Stock Brakes = Ferrodo DS2500 -> Tested at Mission, is fine
Stock adaptive suspension -> Does 1.21 at VIMC, you don't need coils
Stock tires -> Conti SC6 = Conti ECS02, you're not gonna have the best time, but you'll have fun. |
