X5 is still way more money than the RX. Now that Toyota piece of shit sells well. Insanely well. Nobody cared that it lost the v6 or has lame electronic door locks. Nobody cared at all. Waiting list for the hybrid and phev still on going.

JDMDreams 10-08-2025 12:10 PM

Well for $100 you can also get into one of these

You can totally tell in the cayman that they artificially capped it to not surpass the 911 lol.

I'm paying more for less functionality in the Cayenne. No wonder the X5 sells so well.

I've always ranted about the cayenne value proposition in the past; smaller trunk than the X5, shit VW v6 instead of the glorious B58 inline 6, pay for options that are standard in the X5, super expensive maintenance cost compared to X5 etc etc. All for a much higher MSRP than the X5. For what? Tell people you drive a "pors-shuh"

I've heard the same about Porsche batteries, but only for the previous gen Cayenne, so your story checks out. Buy something pre 2018 and you are guaranteed to need a new battery. And IIRC it bricks the car, you cannot drive it with a dead hybrid battery.

The Porsche hybrid batteries are actually quite rebuildable if you can find someone to work on it.

Porsche over-indexed on having a GREAT BMS for 1st gen Taycan.
Their cell chemistry/quality was bad though, so it ended up getting fucked anyways.

Yes, it's to say you made it into management, not just office job mans.

FWIW, I think X5 40i rides kinda rough and the B58's kinda laggy.

I prefer the slight bumpiness, tells me I'm still alive :drunk:

That's cause the base RX 350 is a terrible car. Power liftgate is optional at this price range and level is insane. You also get a shitty 4 cylinder turbo to go with it.

Badhobz 10-08-2025 02:21 PM

it used to be cool... not.... well maybe first gen and a tad bit of 2nd gen. By the time my wife's RX was rolling around meh. At least it had double pane windows and a silky smooth v6.
Also the seats in the NON F SPORT CUZ FUCK YOU F SPORT are pretty comfortable.

The whole schtick of the RX is comfort. It does that exceedingly well, and for buyers who don't give a rats ass about handling (which is like 99% of the driving public) it suits their needs very well, and therefore outsells the x5 2:1 in canada. (the only data i got goes up to 2021)

Who gives a shit about dynamics driving to T&T and daycare.

Badhobz vs. EvoFire

Badhobz 10-08-2025 02:34 PM

more like evofire vs his shanghainese wife who forced him to buy a x5 so she can bling it up.... how shanghainese.... she should have went ultimate shanghainese and forced him to buy a Range Rover.

i put my midget in a fucking RX and she drives it around like a cha lo taxi. She does more miles than the entire family combined... not sure how she does that. Car has 120,000km on it, and its 2018. My ES only has 110,000km and its from 2010. How does a fucking housewife put these kinds of miles on the car!? not like she has a job or anything. If it was a german piece of shit, at 120k, it would have already cost me some big $$$ in repairs. But this toyota crap? nada.. not a single penny... besides the alignment thats required every 4 weeks.... i dont even bother anymore. until the wheel is pointed 45 degrees from center, i aint doing no more fucking alignments.

EvoFire 10-08-2025 02:53 PM

Friend of mine has a RX350 that I borrowed a few times, hated it every single time. Felt like it was gonna flop over every time I turned the wheel. Then he put a straight pipe on it and now it's a shit and giggles mobile.

Wife has specific likes and dislikes when we shopped for cars. In the luxury space, BMW and Audi came out on top, Lexus SUVs are trash, and so are Mercedes. Acura was decent but I did not like how the tranny could potentially be a safety hazard.

I actually picked the X5, the RX didn't have a plug in available at all and didn't meet my requirements. Plus wife would complain how the RX doesn't turn when you turn the wheel.

Badhobz 10-08-2025 03:08 PM

YOUR WIFE DOESNT KNOW JACK SHIT. SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT YOUR WIFE'S REQUIREMENTS. GO BEAT HER NOW!

we should put all our wives in nissan kicks. This is why red kryponite is my fucking hero..... but he sold the kicks and now that bitch is driving his x5M.... so i guess he's about as bad as you when it comes to letting these girls get all uppity and shit.

bcrdukes 10-08-2025 03:09 PM

I think we need to rename this forum from Revscene to lexustoyotasucksscene.net

JDMDreams 10-08-2025 03:39 PM

Badhobz 10-08-2025 03:47 PM

Lexus has made nothing worthwhile in the last decade except for the LC and IS500. The trucks have been a big meh.

Toyota does make some useful stuff, but understandably so it doesn't appeal to people with higher expectations, they are an economy brand afterall.

Badhobz 10-08-2025 04:09 PM

Both brands are dead to me nao.

Is500 is gone. Lc will be gone by next year.

Toyota can keep their gay ass 3 cylinder GR ratrolla

No power liftgate would be a selling point for me, so it's nice to have the option.

I'm largely with you RE: Lexus, but I think the new GX is a pretty solid addition to the lineup. What don't you like about the GX?

Badhobz 10-08-2025 04:48 PM

Wow I went on VW website and the GTI right now (I forgot my term was 36 months not 48! So even better deal) is 758 bucks a month… vs my 500 bucks. No wonder my inbox is blowing up full of requests.

Also that VW buzz is lease rate is 0% for 48… but even then it’s almost 1k a month due to the pittance cash offering from VW. If you pay cash they’ll give you 21k off, but if you lease, you don’t get much savings.

JDMDreams 10-08-2025 04:59 PM

I was looking into the gr Corolla, as an obtainable daily fun car, but the interior is so shit, the Mazda 3 has a pretty nice interior but still no rear AC vents and wtf is with the rear head room.

Badhobz 10-08-2025 07:17 PM

That’s why it’s called a ratrolla. It’s really ratty. In every generation. It’s all pretty ratty shit, but UsED to Be reliable.
