2013–14 SKA St. Petersburg KHL 45 16 24 40 38 10 3 2 5 31 2014–15 SKA St. Petersburg KHL 54 25 30 55 69 KHL totals 135 games 59 78 137 points. Kovalchuk is producing at about a point per game in the KHL with 137 points in 135 games. That's not bad for a guy who is past his prime. Productivity? No problem. You put Kovy on a line with the Sedins and you'll see him produce despite his decline with age. Anyway, it's a moot point because he's not playing for the Canucks under the current rebuild. :troll: |
rumor has it Mike Keenan will be coaching the Chinese KHL team... and of course.. money money money is one thing Kovalchuk loves hahaha |
people always think putting said player with the sedins will translate that player scoring a ton of goals...most of the time this isnt the case! You take a lazy worn down fuck like Kovalchuk who isnt a guy and retrieves pucks in the corner with guys like the twins, it just wont work. The only two guys who ever produced with the twins were not any big name guys ie Burrows and Carter...Vrbata wasnt really a fit with them since he played with the twins a mixed bunch of times... |

Malhotra was the leading candidate for the Selke before his eye injury. Kesler ended up winning it despite not drawing the oppositions' top lines on a nightly basis. |

Good point Nabatron. The big issue with the team's rebuild right now is the lack of goal scoring and depth. 0 for 25 on the powerplay right now. Weaksauce offence. How is Dim Jim gonna rebuild this team's offence, especially on the wing, now that the Sedins are past their prime? Free agency? A buddy of mine keeps thinking Dim Jim is gonna throw tonnes of money at Stamkos in order to get Stamkos to sign with our team. We don't have any legit wingers who can play with Stamkos. Buddy thinks that Stamkos would consider Vancouver because Toronto is a possible destination for him. I told my buddy that he would consider playing for Toronto only because it's his hometown. :lawl: The lack of scoring from the team, especially from the wingers, is a big issue right now. Heck, I've seen kids play in bantam league score more goals in one game than this team. :lawl: |
the only reason for stamkos has a shot at going to TO is he is from there and that is it...there rebuild is pretty much like ours right not..If we somehow get Mathews in the draft and stamkos sees Van as a possible spot just to play with Mathews then I could see him come here. Other then that there would be no reason for stamkos to come here other then money... Top 5 guys Dim jim could possibly look at in free agency would be erickson, ladd, lucic, yandle, boedker other bottom free agents could be nielsen, brouwer, mcginn, perron... but its tuff to say because noone exactly knows what direction they are going in lol |

thought he has to sit out a year to be eligible to come back? |

He would have to "retire" from the K and sit out a whole year before being allowed to rejoin NJD. |

But I think Nabatron said it best. |

As was said of the Leafs rebuild elsewhere: Spoiler! The Canucks management doesn't really seam to have consensus plan in place. A top draft pick is more of a bonus of poor play than a rebuilding process. |
Why are we up 2-0 |
This is bad for the tank |
Tank is slowly getting back on track |
|
First game I've watched in 3 months. Holy hell is this team bad. |
phew |

leafs 6-3-1 in last 10. watch them finish 7th and miss out on the top 3 |
Woot! We are third!! Two points from being tied for first! |
Edmonton gonna finish dead last again. That team shouldnt be allowed in the NHL and be moved to temp AHL team as 5 1st overall pick punishment That would get GMs and ownership working |
I think it's worse that they are destroying all the potential talent of these young prospects with such bad leadership. |
:lawl: I just saw the highlights... those 2 goals were so bad, the tank must be real. They weren't even "softies". They were just bad positioning that pretty much left the half of the net wide open to shoot at. For an NHL caliber goalie, that kind of play/positioning would almost seem intentional... |
If I wasn't on board with tanking, I'd be pretty livid with the refs not calling a penalty on Ribiero taking Vey down at centre prior to the rush that produced the tying goal though... It was actually hard to stop myself from getting mad hahaha "Remember the tank Chris... The tank..." and then turning my anger into gratitude toward Mr. Referee for missing a blatant call and helping our tank. |
2nd episode with the twins Henrik between legs off skate to split the defence.. hahaha |
