My opinion is the Chinese EVs are like Hyundai/Stellantis programs. Incredible selection of exterior styling, interior trim, electronics, and sometimes, performance. Close to 0 validation: Zeekr Golden batteries were bricking. Terrible driving dynamics: BYD stuff is like Sonata, body rolls like the Titanic. Terrible safety performance: Xiaomi SU7 seat frames collapses & brakes aren’t real. What confuses me is how much you guys like them while shitting on Hyundai and Stellantis. At least the Stellantis RWD stuff is quiet, drives like the MB they’re based on, has solid V8 and ZF8. |

ugh the shut lines on the back clearly had the space for a liftback design, but can overlook the traditional trunk because the frunk is massive a review says the steering is from 991 GT3, havent been able to verify that lol did find that the dream edition they did mention benchmarking GT3's suspension lucid is still a newer brand, not sure if getting a year 1 production vehicle would be good peace of mind |
Isn’t the 991 gt3 the shit EPS that everyone complained about ? |
if it's the same one as the CT5V the steering sounds loud too during parking because the EV is so quiet |
It’s the same Bosch motor as the GT cars but tuning and controls might be different Keep in mind a LOT of steering feels also relies on geometry and tire. |
Question for Tesla owners and those who have looked into Teslas. In the GVRD, do you have to take your Tesla to Tesla for service, assuming it is under warranty? What if your car is out of warranty? What are your options? Do third-party shops exist to perform repairs on Tesla? |

I fucking LOVE Tesla! :fuckyea: |

The trunk on the Air I agree is a bit weird. I'm guessing they did design it for a liftback but upper chassis rigidity became a problem? The Air honestly looks a lot better than the Gravity, but we need the hatch trunk |
Yesterday, my brother was giddy to show me his brand new Ioniq 6 dual motor. In reality, you couldn't even pay me $1000 to give a shit. It's fast but everything else felt like i was in a dentist's office. Then again, he's a finance bro without the finance :fuckthatshit: |
Ioniq is an appliance - just happens to be a fairly fast charging one. |

Really dope. Heard someone here said the Gravity was kinda small? |

they're also looking into rolling out extended warranty but for now they only offer such on their used fleet Quote:
after deposit we took the 2nd demo home for 2 days we've never had a nice car so hard to compare..wife is a big fan of the seats she complained etron backseats were too stiff. The sound deadening/refinement with slick top is great. Leg room seems ridiculously overkill (if they made a something around 185-189" long with hatch that would practically be end game)..not used to something with length of a MB E-class but I was expecting slightly better turning radius for tight 3 point turns the whole chassis seems quite cohesive; kind of just glides along the road doesnt feel 4500lbs. Considering its a first product for a startup company, pretty damn impressive but if you deep dive into reviews, the founder was an engineer for jaguar, lotus and model S not the same class but i4 seems built better (right in munich), however its ICE tunnel hump and no frunk was a bummer; lvl 2 self-drive was in practice only on AWD models that's at a big premium the transition between regen/mechanical brake could be smoother if you select off or low but standard regen works great there's some weird dead zone in the center of headlight coverage but minor i think the real world expectation is not unlike rivian and tesla, there's gonna be small annoying software things that will get better with time, luckily we have service center locally, and not sure if vancouver one has mobile techs but i read about them working on your vehicle at work, that would be cool |

The Model 3 I had from 2019 until it was totalled this year had DIY air filter change (10min work the first time, 3min if you know exactly what you are looking to pull) once every year and washer fluid. Parts can be source through Tesla. I believe the only recommended factory service is tire rotation. If you can't do that DIY, any tire shop should do it for you within 10min. |
How often do you have to do a tire rotation? Are there any known issues with suspension? I read (somewhere) that ball joint wear is quite common, but I can't find that forum anymore. |

Haven't had any problem with my Plaid. So, can't comment. Overall speaking, there's very little thing to go wrong in Teslas. And the hard ones (involving High voltage packs or drivetrain) has 8yr warranty. All the others stuff, assuming you can narrow it down to the actual cause, you can download free manual from Tesla to do almost anything DIY. I replaced my Model 3's charger board myself to enable CCS charging with parts from Tesla itself. Just to show you how flexible Tesla is with ordering parts. The only big and expensive thing to watch out for is both headlights in Model S/X if you are getting second hand. You can't just replace the bulbs and each headlight assembly is 2.3k replaced from Tesla for Model S/X. Tire rotation is recommended once a year. I just make note on wheels when I change to my winters so the tires would be rotated once a year when I drop by my friend's shop. |
I'm not sure which Tesla to consider yet. This is my first foray into Tesla or an EV. Given how highly you speak of them, I'm looking for one that is common and perhaps you can even consider me open to being an early adopter, but also open to being a fast follower for models that are tried, tested, and true. |
For a first EV you can expect to use without much hassle, I have been recommending: - Model 3 Highland (previous gen rides like shit!) - Mustang Mach E or Ford Lightnkng - Rivian/Lucid Air All are easy to daily drive AND road trip, have great software and app for setting up preconditioning and cabin warming, great regen/1 pedal tuning (except Tesla), and great highway self driving (except Lucid). I can explain why I am suggesting against others, lmk what your considering. Have driven everything on sale in US except Lotus Eletre, Maserati Folgore, Polestar 3. |

Supposedly the new economic version Model Y is coming after Sep 30th, but depending on the price, some stuff might be too much of a tradeoff to forgo. The new Y IMO is quite balanced as far as feature and price. Plus we now get the Made in Germany ones. There's another option if you don't need the space and is planning to drive it to the ground. Before sep 30th, inventory Model 3 gets either $5000 off or free lifetime supercharging. Sure $5000 is a lot of supercharging. But a buddy of mine has that in his Tesla and he's almost always out to somewhere on the weekends. |

I highly advise you to rent one and try it out first. I have driven the pre refresh Model 3 a bit and I have to say I hate the seats on road trips. The suspension is also not good as said by Astulzer. |

I’ve tried both the facelifted 3 and Y and they’re definitely a big step up from the pre-facelift models. |
