I didn't particularly like the JV pick when they made it, but it wasn't like it was off the board, either (I was hoping for Draisaitl, but EDM beat us to him; after that, Nylander).

The problem with Virtanen was that, while he had the physical tools, his overall game was still very simple and raw. I don't think the team has done themselves or JV any favours by fast-tracking him into the NHL and then keeping him here.

I'd argue that they should've let him play in the WHL last year and in the AHL this year.

^ I was hoping for Drai too but Edm bead us out just like fucking Pullujarvi.

Virtanen needs AHL and playing time. Nothing he can do in junior because he can just overpower the opposing player. AHL he will have a tougher time.

But it's still too damn early to say Ehler / Nylander was a better pick.

He was with Biega this morning.

Toronto still sold out their stadium even when the Leafs were losing. If we as a city supported our team like they do the Leafs, we could be really good in about 4-5 years.

But with housing, food, parking, and gas prices the way they are, I can't afford to go out and spend $400 to watch them play AHL hockey.


I hope Tryamkin does something out there tonight. My patience, and that of the Canucks staff is wearing thin with the big, arrogant Russian.
