Tos'd I didn't end up ordering one from FNAC. Decided to wait until launch day and lined up early.

I've seen some going for 150-180. Just make a seller an offer as there are so many on CL Vancouver right now.

Otherwise you may want to pick a Walmart or EB and find out when they usually receive stock.

Last year some coworkers got some NESC at Walmart right when they put them on the shelf. They had spoke to the person there who said they were getting them at noon that day.

That's why I hate walmart.ca
They put no effort to fulfill your online order when their website said IN STOCK.

I got the EU version from FNAC and a NA version too. Will probably off-load the NA one to some friends that missed out. Keeping the EU version cause colours, lol.

Nice I actually like the euro version a lot more

For some reason the Snes mini looks and feels kinda cheap. The games I don't have like Earthbound make it worth it though

Just wanted to thank you again. I called them up today and got it all sorted out very quickly. Hopefully i'll have them in a couple of days. I found it odd that for 2 units I paid $37 and change but for one you paid $31 (i'm assuming you only got 1)

Just received mines in the mail.

Damn should of gotten two if I knew the brokerage fees were going to be that much:okay:

But that's okay cause at least I have a SNES classic in hand!

Gh0st 10-04-2017 01:56 PM

still looking for one :/

goaleR 10-04-2017 04:11 PM

Anyone worried about screen burn in? I see there's an option for reducing the screen burn in and it would probably take a few hours to do some damage but...still a little concerned.

Does anyone know how that option works?

Tim Budong 10-04-2017 07:24 PM

EU/JP version is what I relate to.. hah.and Game Doctor..huehuehue

ZN6 10-05-2017 03:37 PM

I had a game doctor 6 and had to snap those two plastic guards in the cartridge slot to make it work with my NA SNES. I remember the days when loading 32mbit games took FOREVER on 4 floppy disks. FUCK YOU CHRONO TRIGGER! So worth it though.

Back in the day, rent from blockbuster, then back up the game ftw.

Not added automatically. You can add your own or Google search and pick a photo.

For games with issues, you have to install the Retroarch module from here - https://github.com/ClusterM/retroarch-clover - and then add --retroarch to the game's command line. I would also recommend disabling compression. I got SSF2 working this way.

Retroarch basically loads the game in a separate emulator instead of using the built-in one.

thanks Razor.

I downloaded retroarch 0.8 from here

If you guys want to rename the original games..

1. Open up Hakchi
2. Use an FTP client like Filezilla and connect to 127.0.0.1:2021 using root/clover
3. Browse to the /usr/share/games/ directory
4. Find the folder of the game which name you want to change
5. Open up the .desktop file with Notepad++
6. Change line 5 to however you want it to show up

I did that for Contra because I didn't like that it was all in capitals and for Yoshi's Island since it's technically Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

If you're changing the name completely like I did for Yoshi's Island, make sure to change line 17 as well in Notepad++. Otherwise it will sort the games according to the old title when you sort by title.

Attached is all the games I added so far. Gonna add some more later on.

a few useful tips for those who Hakchi2'ed and Retroarch'ed..

Down + Select = Home Screen (can change to different button combo in Hakchi2)
Select + Start = Retroarch menu (obviously you'd need to have Retroarch installed for this)

if you want a certain ROM to be opened with Retroarch, add "--retroarch" at the end of command line in Hakchi2

for example: /bin/clover-canoe-shvc-wr -rom /usr/share/games/CLV-U-PTFXF/Street_Fighter_Alpha_2_(U)_[!].sfrom.7z --volume 100 -rollback-snapshot-period 600 --retroarch
