That was nasty lookin... Thinking his visor must've split him open pretty good in the cheek area as well as probably split his eyebrow on the ice. Hope he's not out for long.

Jmac 02-05-2019 01:58 PM

He reportedly lost some teeth, which was part of the blood loss.

What are implications of putting that much up front as signing bonus? I mean other than the obvious, player gets the money in his bank first. Are there cap implications?

Signing bonus money isn’t included in buyout calculations (essentially buyout-proof).

Signing bonus money is owed regardless of lockout/strike.

Signing bonus money is owed regardless of injury status and isn’t covered by insurance.

moody 02-05-2019 04:39 PM

Edlers fall looks ackward... Like he blacked out and didn't use his hands to break the fall instead just held onto his stick??..

You’re holding onto your stick tight af, the last thing you expect is the blade going perfectly into someone’s skate like that. I’m sure he wasn’t expecting it and got turned around hardly expecting to be pulled down like that

spoon.ek9 02-05-2019 05:41 PM

Canucks fought valiantly. I'm ok with this loss. Plus, Petey got a goal so I'm happy lol.

fsy82 02-06-2019 08:53 AM

The power have having deep pockets such as those of the Leafs

68style 02-09-2019 09:28 AM

Everyone has the same cap, their deep pockets have just allowed them to mortgage like 8 years of their future in hopes of winning this year or next year.

After that some teams are gonna get a really great player (Tavares, Marner, Matthews or Nylander) at a massive discount with most of their salary already paid up front, unless the Leafs are able to singlehandedly convince the league to up the cap by like $20 million dollars.

highfive 02-09-2019 10:54 AM

Leafs lucky they got reilly kadri and andersen on good cap hits.

I think Nylander is gone after this season. Kapanen is the cheaper alternative and production will probably be the same between the two players.

nismodrifter 02-09-2019 10:58 AM

Looking forward to the game tonight!! I'll be there, with Flames jersey on :D

Jmac 02-09-2019 06:53 PM

Canucks defense was fucking terrible that period. Super lucky to be tied after 1.
