Why didn't the Cons remove some of the Provincial barriers last time they were in power? Harper regime ... these inter-Provincial barriers were there then. |
How many tens of millions of dollars did these guys get from the government over an app that could be coded by junior students, probably for free, for a class project? |
^^ but NaTiOnAl security. We could have let India done it for $1000 |

Posted about it on here way back then. These guys made a killing and get a slap on the wrist, essentially. |

With all the social cringe that was taking place during the early Covid era, the 2 worst had to be the Arrive Can App and the Vax passport. A small sliver of people got stinkin' wealthy here and the rest of us just looked like retards with a barcode. |

I've been thru a process with just City of Burnaby, and it was a server that was 1.68 Million+ The process took 6 months. Was it above value? can't tell but we surely weren't the only person bidding. Actual delivery.. well a server is there on site so it can be verified. Even if it was SAP HANA let's say with Ops and Testing virtual blah blah blah... maybe you can't show it's delivered. I do have to say that there were 10+ people vetting the process and 15+ people installing etc. There was at no time someone who came and say.."just go with ______" Oh yes, it's fair. |
Yea.. well there was also the part about half the contracts being paid out without even knowing if the work was done.. |
My god. I had to visit Life Labs today for a routine lab req, nowadays appointments take weeks to make, so I did a walk in at the Commercial location. No word of a lie, I felt like I was in a UN refugee camp. Room full of patients from a country I'm not certain on (thinking Yemen) with UMR Relief t-shirts on, their kids dressed in rags, not a lick of English. I felt bad watching the woefully understaffed nurses trying to intake these people with no proper paperwork or ability to communicate. I caught eyes with another dude waiting for his call, observing the chaos, we just shook our heads. As a bleeding heart liberal slowing becoming more conservative, our healthcare system is clearly inundated with these charity cases, and it's causing major issues. |
People who have never had a doctors appointment in their lives coming here and taking over the medical system for years at a time with their undiagnosed ailments. Go to Surrey Memorial ER, just go pop in have a look. |

You just alluded to the healthcare, I hear stories in education/public schools, and of course, housing. Hopefully, Carney is a centrist Lib, at least that's kind of what I'm seeing him so far. |
They said they cut down immigration, but have they really? Seems like all university going broke already. |
I think the lack of international student enrolment in colleges and universities and the effects of them going broke are leading indicators that immigration has been held back, no? |
They have. I suspect that the fact that Universities going broke is because they didn't have enough runway time to reframe/rework their budgeting using a different model than one so heavily relying on International tuition fees. bcrdukes, you and I are like twins. |
Canada should just keep up the immigration rate to keep the economy from crashing, and distract us with an actual-cool national project... what if they build more pipelines across Canada, and twinned it with a national bike path with inns and off-grid, gas-powered communities along the way. They should be building connected bicycle paths like in a spider-web formation across this entire country and make the Canadian bicycle hobo a real thing. https://i.ibb.co/9jWQ9St/Chat-GPT-Im...5-21-12-PM.png |
