That's an entirely reasonable amount of real estate to own for personal use considering his age and success - shit, my house is worth nearly $3m and I rent out a suite - does that make me unqualified to be a housing minister?

He has definitely gotten off to a rough start as housing minister - at least his first week - but few actually understand the problem as well as he does or have lived experience with what works and what doesn't on the housing market. He might still get shuffled out though b/c solving housing isn't a 1 or 2 year problem, it's a decades problem and the market is offering really bad conditions for building housing right now (high rates, high costs, dropping prices).

PP never got rich running a business though - the question that swirled around him was how he managed to (allegedly) become so rich on an MPs salary. I'm not sure anyone has been able to verify how much wealth PP has - if a lifelong MP is worth 8 figures then I would like to understand how that happens but if it's 7 figures I don't really care.

Buying real estate when you're worth high 7 figures is pretty much expected.

PP also has lived for free with a staff on taxpayer dollars for what, 4 years now? Is he still currently doing that even though he isn’t an elected member of parliament?

...after some crackhead took a handful of his own shit and smashed it into my ex gf's hair at Crab Park. We called the cops but because the guy was covered in his own shit, they just told him to move on and suggested we leave the park because the homeless guy just stood outside of the park yelling at everyone. My ex gf was extremely disgusted and it took hours for her to get the smell out of her hair. Fucking brutal!

A park full of witnesses and the guy actively yelling and screaming and the cops wouldn't arrest him. I guess I wouldn't want to wrestle someone covered in shit either.

Over the years I've had a lot of "coulda, woulda, shoulda" thoughts about that day, but, ultimately, it was a crazed street person with god knows what illnesses, covered in their own shit. Like... the smell bro... the only way he snuck up on us like he did was because we weren't down wind of him until after I called the cops. The entire park of people were on my side, like 20+ people, and yelling at the guy to fuck off too... some nice woman helped my ex get some of the shit chunks out of her hair while we waited for the cops who were, to their credit, there within a minute or two. Probably other people had reported the guy.

Without a doubt, it someone had bear maced him, they'd be the ones getting arrested, for sure. I just put this one on the "funny Vancouver memories" shelf and that's that.

The port had a cleanup the community day recently and one of the parks we could have volunteered to clean up was crab park. Hahhahahah !!! Not a single soul went to that park to clean it up. People instead went to new Brighton where there is literally nothing to clean up and everyone left after 10 minutes. Got a photo and boom, so called community service done.

It had been a nice park up until 2014-2015 when cracktown really took over Gastown and Crab Park. It had been a super chill place until about then. In the last 3-4 years it was taken over by a tent city and really unsafe for anyone to chill at.
