I mean Honey Badger is great and all, but he doesn’t have a voice I’d consider to be good for broadcasting.

Not everyone has the same political views.

Talk about a bad coaching decision in choosing Mike Smith as the Oilers' starting goalie vs. the Blackhawks.

Smith gets the hook after allowing his fifth goal in game 1. He got yanked in the second period. :lawl:

Regardless of political view, the statement itself was idiotic to suggest the President of the United States should not be held to some level of accountability to the shitshow that is the America today.

You’re correct and he also posted earlier in the day that he’d been waiting 12 days for COVID test results for his daughter (which is something Trump can control). But we all know the negative response from fans to this is primarily because he revealed himself as a Trump supporter.

He can be a Republican and most people would leave him alone for that. "Not everyone has the same politics" and most are fine with that.

Being an actual Trump supporter is a whole other level though, and it says a lot more about you than your politics.

spoon.ek9 08-02-2020 07:35 PM

slow start but the canucks seem to have found their game by the end of that first period.

Pearson takes a bonehead penalty that results in another goal for Minny.

So glad veteran leader and Stanley Cup Champion Tanner Pearson saved easily his worst game ever as a Canuck for our first playoff game............

Spearing a guy on the bench, has to be a suspension right?

And he's not even the one who held the stick LUL

HonestTea 08-02-2020 09:02 PM

The power went out for a quick second it seems lol

spoon.ek9 08-02-2020 09:12 PM

I'm surprised he didn't get kicked out of the game.

Not even that, offsetting minors! Basically zero punishment

I guess they figured he was provoked so were light on him

Still, fucking with people who aren't even in play... It's been a while since I last watched hockey, only into NFL during that time, so maybe I am more strict than I used to be.

A guy on the bench grabbed his stick, so that absolutely should have been a penalty. But spearing is almost always 5 and a game. You're also not allowed to hit players on the bench.

I'm guessing he got off easy because powerplays at the time were 5-0 in favour of Minnesota and handing them a 3-minute powerplay in the 3rd period would've been poor game management.

Right that's what I'm saying.. Obvious 5 major at least, if not a game misconduct. But despite "doing the crime" he didn't have to "do the time" since the refs are managing the game rather than calling by the book. They let the Canucks off the hook because they got so many penalties already

I guess "that's playoff hockey"

68style 08-03-2020 12:41 AM

I didn't think the game was all that well officiated, but I guess I'm biased being a Canucks fan....... I thought the crosschecking minor on Myers was pretty BS... the guy got the shot off, it's a big man clearing the net, Petey was taking crosschecks like that all night without falling on his face like the Minnesota player did. Same goes for the "slash" on Stalock by Pearson... as much as Pearson had a shit game with blind backpasses and penalties Stalock played that one up so bad.

Petey looks to be suffering from Sedinism... stays classy and never asks for anything so the refs don't call shit. Hacked, slashed, punched all night and nothing... the only penalty call he was even involved in was when Koivu turned Toffoli into a bowling ball for Petey's legs... which was also Minnesota's first penalty they had to kill the whole night.

No game should be 5-0 in penalties at any point let alone in the playoffs..........
