The jersey logo and team colours are cool though. They got that part right.

I dislike the colour scheme.

The rink will be known as the Krakhouse.

In fact, a little worried they're going to be a preferred destination over Vancouver for players. Get all the benefits of the northwest lifestyle with none of the media attention

I like the sweaters more than the VGK i think.. they did a good job with the color scheme and logo imo

Any name and logo is going to be meme material for a while. Same thing will happen with the Washington Football Team.

But Kraken? Surely they had some other sea monsters worthy of consideration?

The colours are GREAT though for sure. Logos too, I especially like how they incorporated the Space Needle into the design of the anchor SeemsGood

Terrible logo IMO.
It's a solid logo for the shoulder patch where simplicity should be desired in limited space, but it's not enough emphasis for a primary logo for the chest.

Looks like they just took a S and fluffed it up a bit and put a random eye in there to make it look "edgy". There's no way anyone would identify an octopus tentacle unless they know they're looking for something that relates to a Kraken.

There's a difference between starting the design with the team name and cleverly creating a letter (eg: Canucks, NJD, CLB, Ducks, Avs, LVK, etc) vs taking a letter first, and then spicing it up with elements of the team name. The end result, the logo still blatantly looks like a letter with very little creativity.

My first impression was, this looks like a MLB logo. Probably because it doesn't look far off from this:

Just randomly remembered - For the launch of NHL11, the Sedins were doing autographs at the EB Games in Metrotown for a limited edition cover (instead of the one with Toews).

Does anyone still have their copy? I don't have mine anymore, but it looked like this.
