South Vancouver - people are playing floor hockey. WTF :heckno: |
I think we need to stop being surprised that people aren't taking this seriously. Until it affects someone they know they won't care. People are selfish, this isn't new. |
Until people can’t pay their mortgage/rent they won’t care. |

^ right now, 1/4 or more of us probably has it. Does anyone else think it's a matter of when, not if you catch it? I kinda see it that way. |
GF and I have had take out a couple times but I think we will stop with the take out. Doesn’t make sense, can’t eat in, but please come in and touch the door etc and leave. Been good so far, have been able to go to parents house during the day to work on the car, but with the rain coming the quarantine will set in. Too many concussions, can’t watch tv/play games like I used to. |
Which day are you guys predicting a full shutdown of non essential businesses? Bets? |

But I wonder what's going to happen to the economy? So many people are affected already, more lay off to come and small business go out of business. Let's say this blow over by may (doubt it) how long before the ECU recover? I mean we have no money they can't afford to pay bills, mortgage, rent, food, utilities etc etc. Is the government going help out? How many people will benefit? Will the government defer property tax? Is a long lasting process… if people can't pay recession will come.and then good luck everyone. So many people is already in debt what will happen? |

like another poster said the government is actually encouraging walks in the park etc. as long as you keep your distance...it's not a rock concert/trade show/social event/bbq etc. can't comment on how shelter-in-place is looking like in USA but in vancouver there are a buncha of kids stuck in townhomes/apartments playing board games/ipad for a whole week now, they need some fresh air and i get the sense those that say 'just lock yourself indoors no if or buts', don't have much experience with young kids...it's about finding a good balance to reduce transmission but not completely neglect your vision/mental well-being today local big public parks there were attendants blocking entrances by 10am to help with social distancing honestly most people were pretty good about keep a distance, sometimes you see others forget, you just pause and keep your distance and that usually helps remind them...remember this is still all new to everyone...it's not they're not taking it seriously but just need reminders what's more concerning is your vape bros standing around socializing that i saw yesterday night and tonight, c'mon save that for now...birthday parties, seriously not the right time Quote:

Spain / Italy is about 3 weeks ahead of us. Cali + NY is already "curfew", so I can't wait to see what happens to Seattle / Miami after Spring Break. March 21 now, so I give it till April 15. That's assuming the rain next week will put us all indoors and it maybe stopped the spread a bit. Lock down non-essential business only for 1 week. Then police will be in place. Police will start issuing / ticketing a week if people don't comply. Olympics will stop (they are already saying they won't refund tickets). April shut down, i give it a full 2 months June for it to calm down in Canada. For USA, I can see it being locked down within major 20 cities until Aug. |
Spoiler! It is different because it is not necessary. Where as your listings are essential. |

just wondering...what are you guys stocking up on? not hoarding, just maintaining a good amount of stock on food/supplies/water/etc to keep staying at home? |
^ when you're asian and was hoarding even before this...that extra freezer finally came in handy Quote:
what about food delivery? is the guy going door to door/handling money really helping reduce disease transmission too? |
