What I don't understand is.. why did the bf who knew police was knocking AND then opened the door and fired a gun?
What possible wrong doing would a guy open the door, whether it was a quick OPEN + CLOSE and fire, or open.. had a chat with the cops and pulls out a gun.
Again, maybe I didn't read the entire article, but something doesn't add up.

It's America its crazy, like this case
Officer claims he followed a guy cuz he thought he was speeding (he doesn't have radar) followed him all the way to a convenience store.
Officer ran the guys plates, and the cars owner has a warrant out, officer decides to arrest the driver, and ends up beating the driver in the head several times bcuz the officer claims the driver balled his fists.
officer ends up breaking his own hand on the driver's face, and charges the driver with assaulting a police officer (for his broken hand) and resisting arrest.
Judge dismisses the resisting arrest charge, but decides the assaulting an officer charge is deserving of a trial

Painting a white painted rock black looks good to me. They should leave it, or sandblast the whole thing if it's an issue
Painting a rock of any color should be considered graffiti.
Anyhow, the city should've considered embracing it and said we'll paint the rock black for X time. You fend off the vandals and make a social statement. Win for everyone. And c'mon, we're talking about a rock that gets painted on a monthly basis anyways.

Butt, but, it's a sacred first nations rock.
It was put there by the gods......... took 10,000 raven to drop it off there. All kidding aside, the boulder was deposited there from a long gone glacier. The white was from the bird shit........... I shit you not!

I do not agree on painting the rock. No difference than someone vandalizing properties. Where do we draw the line, do we paint BLM on art pieces, do we paint free HK protestors (done on the mermaid at Stanley Park), / Falungong etc ....
I think we have to be careful about bad actors within the political movement here.
How do we not know that the person who did this was a bad actor looking to make black lives matters look bad to a community of mostly white people?
Historically the rock itself has no alignment to a racist ideal, so I think it's silly to paint it black or anything else, the damn city is named White Rock

Have you not seen the videos of looters? They're primarily white kids. Have you never heard of the concept of agent provocateur? There have been many reports of protests where masked men are running around creating chaos for the purpose of de-legitimizing a cause.
You're so damn simple minded in your arguments that you act as if there aren't reports detailing this very thing. The very practice is as old as time, the same tactics were used during the civil rights era by police and the FBI.
Give me a fucking break, how is that a double standard? We don't know the person who defamed the bloody rock, no groups have taken credit for it.
If this wasn't a bad actor, then the person is a fool for doing such a thing in the name of BLM. They're directing their ire at a tourist attraction that has nothing to do with civil rights.

The problem is that you lefties are nothing but opportunists. No one is willing to take any responsibility whatsoever.
When looting happened, and the general consensus is kinda letting such action slide (as in acceptable), you come out saying all the lootings are justifiable and a way to make your voice heard.
Now someone paints the fucking White Rock's rock, and the majority of posts seem to be condemning the action, the best thing you can come up with is they are "bad actors" and nothing to do with BLM?!?
