Anyone watching the gold medal game, World Juniors?

1 period left for Canada to prevent the upset. Thing with WJ hockey is that it can have a CFL like ending ...wild!

Full credit to the Americans. Their defencemen boxed out Canada’s forwards. They took the middle of the ice away from Canada.

The US outplayed Canada for most of the game. They deserve the gold medal.

Damn, usually, nobody can yank me away from the television when the gold medal game is on, but I wasn't rushin' home today to catch the game. I did check in to see what the score was................. the finish to this tournament was a little disappointing. Wasn't sweet at all. A Senokot win.

Spoiler!

SkinnyPupp 01-05-2021 08:00 PM

Watching the 3rd period was just like watching the Canucks trying desperately to score but failing to get anywhere near the net. Shots were like 10-0 in the 3rd but no chance

Before mud0c was born.......... actually, a cold war term. Commies were as bad as the Germans and the Japanese.

BTW, there's a lot of Russians in Richmond. A lot of Jewish Russians. "It's because I'm Jewish, isn't it."

Addendum: Holy shiite........ that World Juniors cup/trophy is so tiny. Okay, the Yanks can have it, gulolol.

Yah, a boring to sent of an ending. But yes, kudos to the US team, they played like they wanted it more. In 1st period, the US looked like they were constantly on PP ...always in the CAN half of the ice!

Fun for the first few mins then I would imagine it wears on you ... I noticed that some players are really zoned in and like that focus and space not constant babble. Can be annoying ... like STFU already! But then maybe some like that 'energy'?

you do realize these were clips through out the practice right? When playing having a guy like that is great especially during practice. teams need players like that to help loosen everyone up.

I think Somone like Schmidt is an actual likeable/friendly guy though

Where as Somone like PK suban, his Schtick seems to wear thin very fast with teammates

Seems like both Dallas and Columbus may have covid issues.
Going to be an interesting season.

Ch28 01-08-2021 09:40 AM

Watch the Canadian division be the only one that finishes their games this season.

Expresso 01-08-2021 09:44 AM

Both NBA MLB NFL have dealt with their share of Covid issues, I'm sure nothing to worry about too much.

spoon.ek9 01-08-2021 10:23 AM

not surprising with the absolutely appalling numbers in the US. They're on track to hit 300,000 cases a day and have already surpassed 4000 deaths in a single day.

NHL season start to be delayed due to covid. Sounds quite serious as SpoonEK9 mentioned.

I'm wondering if Hoglander is worth it as a late round draft pick in my keeper league hockey pool. :considered:

Rookies can be kept as keepers for the entire 3 years of their ELC in my hockey pool with my friends.

A pool of 17 GMs with one keeper position at C, W, Defenceman, and Goalie for each GM.
