I think most fans agree that Toffoli was the smarter play than Jake if they could have made it work from a cap perspective. Although it was a small sample size, Toffoli was a beast on either of the top lines. I feel that Jake has shown everything he is capable of. This is his 6th professional season, and 5th with the Canucks. I would love to be proven wrong, but he doesn't have the skillset to take it to the next level.

Yeah it’s still an okay player to have on your 3rd line. But if Jake ever started taking it serious, he could be a 30-30 player, which would’ve been super valuable.

he came into camp in shape so right now I think he's one step ahead from previous years. Covid has really seemed to help him wit focus so hopefully he keeps it up.
