…….. maybe Woo? That’s pretty much it though :( Even for forwards it sucks… we were all hot for Klimovich in training camp and he had like 3 points his first couple games in Abbotsford, but he’s only at 5 points in 15 games now. Yikes. |

Klimovich is fine. He is 19 and needs time to develop his skills in the North American game. I hope he can make the lineup in the next few years. Our D prospects are slim to none. What we need are good two-way d, Rathbone is more offensive. I wish we kept Schmidt, although I know he wanted out of this tire fire. He is playing beast mode in Winnipeg right now. Somehow we ended up with Winnipeg's 6th defensemen as a replacement... And that is the problem. We have lost players such as Tanev, Edler, Schmidt, etc. for little to nothing over the past few years and haven't been able to fill the holes appropriately. Even if the offense gets going under BBQ-B, the D is one of the worst in the league IMO. |
After losing the 2020 playoffs, the team was looking promising and with the "right" moves the Canucks could've gotten better. But we all know what happened there.... |
I know it's semantics, but OEL replaced Schmidt... not Poolman. Everyone misses Tanev, even I do... but if I take my homer glasses off he was supposed to be traded every season for 3 years and was aging poorly, his underlying stats didn't look good and he was constantly injured. He's had a bit of a resurgence in Calgary, but he's not the messiah and everyone here seem to forget the fanbase wanted him out of here years ago. DO I think Myers or Poolman were the right moves? NOT A CHANCE, I hated BOTh signings so much and still do... lump Hamonic in there too, I think he's garbage and a poor substitute character/teammate wise for Tanev... and I do miss Tanev... but his signing would have been equally criticized. Keeping Edler would have been stupid too at the price he wanted. The guy was a turnstyle here his last 2 seasons. We got back for Schmidt exactly what we gave up FWIW... and maybe it's just me, but at similar AAV I think OEL is quite a bit better than Schmidt is. |
Under Bruce coaching. Can we expect a more high scoring game? Maybe as long as the forwards are scoring it can offset our crappy defense? |
Outscoring the opponents never worked for the Oilers even with all their firepower. |
Man, Thomas Drance might be the best analyst I’ve heard, maybe ever. The way he breaks down the cap and trade history etc. no one really goes that in depth Today on the radio he broke down the misconception that Gillis “left the cupboard bare” for Dim Jim. After being a top 2/3 team basically from 2009 to 2013 draft picks were basically high/unusable for an extended period of time However, dim Jim then botched almost every tangible asset he had when he traded Kesler for Bonino, Bieksa for a second round pick that amounted to nothing/sutter etc etc. it was pretty glaring the mistakes made in trading away the actual assets he had in place and the returns he got. Basically the biggest one was Luongo for Markstrom and he let Markstrom walk for nothing. Cupboards are generally bare in the top teams in terms of long term prospects but he also basically botched 75%+ of the trades of the valuable assets he did have. |
I find Drance hit or miss for me…… I like some of his takes but other times he’s arrogant and stubborn and hypocritical and won’t own up to it. He was so in Green’s back pocket it wasn’t even funny. |

Sedins stayed..Luongo was done by Gillis. Gillis did leave the cupboards pretty bare. Drance a smart guy...he knows what to say and push the right buttons.. I much rather read Harman Dayal's writing. |
I think the end message though was that basically you traded away the assets that you had that actually had value and almost all of them amounted to nothing. |

Boudreau likes to sleep like many people. This is a funny story: LUL https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...648fc4f6a8.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
When our Canucks are not playing well during games under Boudreau, BBQ Bruce needs to make this kind of speech again: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is a reason why they are sellers and buyers at the trade deadline. Unfortunately, the Canucks were never sellers despite finishing near the bottom 5 in the past 7 to 8 years (except for that 1 year we traded Hansen/Burrows). Instead, they preferred to let their assets rot into nothing. |
I remember binge watching that season and that was the last episode I watched before going to bed. Got up next morning for one of those early 1130am ASHL games and scored 2 that game. Team asked what i had for breakfast and I pointed to watching that speech the night before LOL |

Watching this new PK pisses me off Like fuck we couldn’t just have an aggressive forecheck before? That one PK they had like 4 short handed chances ffs.. |
Hockey is exciting to watch again |
GOD WHAT IS THIS TEAM? Is this still a response to a change in coaching, or is this actually what they're supposed to look like? |
Damn, Miller has sick dekes for shootout goals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
