We spent 6 mill a year on TYLER MYERS... I think we can do it for Z hahaha

Just say goodbye to Hronek, he's extremely replaceable if the second half of the season is more his reality. Doesn't bring much physically either.

unit 05-28-2024 10:06 AM

Z is a really important player to have in the playoffs, i think he's absolutely worth it. physical presence and he puts up points when it matters too.

whitev70r 05-28-2024 10:16 AM

yah ... that massive body, literally a head taller than big players. Z just running over Kane and a wicked shot to boot. Keeper. Trade Hronek.

murd0c 05-28-2024 10:22 AM

Z can also handle the media unlike Hronek who is a total asshole. I fully agree in the regular season Hronek is a better fit in the regular season but fuck the regular season it's about the playoffs and Z proved he can get it done when needed most.

Everyone plays at their best on contract years

whitev70r 05-28-2024 10:26 AM

^ simple ... just put together a roster of 75% players on contract years :lol.

That's exactly what we just did

AzNightmare 05-28-2024 12:45 PM

That's why I'm almost expecting a bit of regression next season, and Petey is going to take a bigger piece of that caphit.
Unless certain players have breakout years. Or maybe Petey can be a 120pt regular season player with a suitable top 6 winger.

Rinse and repeat then and don't sign anyone to Benning type albatross contracts with no movement clauses thrown in.

teggy604 05-28-2024 01:34 PM

Are we anywhere close to a cup contenders in a few years? If not why not just bring up Abby players and let them get experience and chemistry with the core?

lol, that's just bad goaltending and kind of surprised to see it at the NHL level... Putting skate blade on the post to seal up instead of using the toe bridge.

This is probably something pre-scouted and Canucks should have exploited it.

This was from last year: 4:05, 5:02

I think you're onto something. Just sign everyone to 1 year deals.

We would need to trade for pending ufa's on expiring contracts to play their hearts out to hit open market for big payday

SkinnyPupp 05-28-2024 05:42 PM

I don't know how Florida is able to score so many garbage goals.. usually you get a couple in a series, but all their goals are like that and now they're winning LUL

whitev70r 05-28-2024 07:15 PM

Good game in Florida ... another OT game, this time Florida wins it on a PP. Wheeler got himself in the box. Speaking of, Wheeler ... from Winnipeg to NY and now in Conference final with his ex-coach on the other side.

SkinnyPupp 05-28-2024 07:24 PM

boring game tbh

Florida fans fucking suck, and it sounded like there were 10-20% Rangers fans in the building

It would be a travesty if another Florida team won another championship

Which of course means that's what's going to happen.

Hondaracer 05-28-2024 07:41 PM

Two teams with no state income tax and the largest/most valuable market in the league remain

Oh and Edmonton :troll:

goal scorer's goal, robertson knows most goalies won't think anyone would try that at the NHL level, that's why it's actually a brilliant move

lol, maybe...

I don't really think it's as much of a figurative chess match between goalie and shooter. Most competent NHL goalies would just seal up the post properly by not using the blade of the skate as an automatic response of proper post sealing technique.

I mean goals like those are pretty much 90% goalie's fault.

Spoiler!

Damn, sounds like you've done your homework on Skinner. Are you secretly Jason Robertson? :)

It's a pretty fundamental goaltending technique, the reverse vh. Pretty obvious when a goal like that gets in don't need a deep scouting report on it.

bobbinka 05-29-2024 11:46 AM

Just close all the holes and don't let a goal in. Is Skinner stupid?

EvoFire 05-29-2024 11:47 AM

Canucks have parted ways with Mike Yeo.

pastarocket 05-29-2024 01:11 PM

No surprise with Mike Yeo leaving the Canucks.

Yeo worked on specials teams, the Power play and penalty kill.

The power play failed at the most critical time against the Coilers during the series. The team got a four minute power play in game 7.

No shots on net! No high danger scoring chances on that four minute PP. The players on the ice managed to give up a scoring chance on a breakaway in game 7.

Yeo takes some responsibility for the powerless power play. Although players must execute on the PP, the coach needs to make the right adjustments to counteract the Coilers' blocking shots.
