Looks like the players stopped playing for each other, not just for woodcraft. They need some fresh blood in the FO and the locker room to shake up the culture.

McDavid definitely has an injury. He still has his hands but without his speed he looks like an average first liner...

Oilers are a cup contender team??

Oilers have a habit of just recycling garbage at important positions ie. coaching and Goaltending lol

On 32 thoughts yesterday there was some crazy stat that if your back by like 10 points by American thanksgiving, last year not 1 team in that position made the playoffs, and previous 10 years it was like 4 teams total lol

RIP

The Oilers will be cooked like a U.S. Thanksgiving turkey if quick changes are not made in terms of the coaching.

Draisaitl’s interview after the Sharks ate his team for dinner haha:

Woodcroft’s post-game interview:

Edmonton will get better. It's just a minor slump they are in. Media should just backoff and let them work it out.

Hondaracer 11-10-2023 07:42 AM

Lol that’s not how it works for a Canadian team “cup contender”

68style 11-10-2023 07:56 AM

Fuck those interviewers are all assholes... I mean don't get me wrong, I'm somewhat enjoying Edmonton falling on their faces here but Draisaitl doesn't deserve to sit there and literally be attacked like that.

How he keeps his composure at all is a miracle. That 3 minute interview felt like 30.

Canucks keep rolling! Five straight wins.

I told a buddy of mine after the Canucks 8-1 beatdown of the Oilers for their first win of the season, pick Boeser for his hockey pool team. Brock was on waivers and available at that time in buddy's hockey pool.

He's gonna have a much better season compared to the past couple of seasons. -heard news reports that Brock started his offseason training earlier compared to the last couple of years.

-good article:

On to Toronto. Put a beatdown on those Leafs! :gun:

as someone who only started keeping up with hockey this year, i'm looking at last years standings and now seeing why it's such a big deal how bad the oilers are. they were actually one of the better teams last year, same with the flames. what a bad start for alberta teams.

I think they added that the chances of those bottom dwelling teams making the playoffs is about 10-15%. Oilers could possibly make a comeback here but it's going to be incredibly difficult. Hard to believe they're off to a worse start than we were last year.

On another note, I actually don't think this is Woodcroft's fault. He's just the easiest target for immediate change. I mean, unless Holland actually gets canned first, I don't see how else they shake things up without a drastic change to the roster. That in itself is a huge issue as most teams are right at the cap and rival teams with cap space aren't exactly inclined to bail the Oilers out here.

whitev70r 11-10-2023 01:38 PM

^ strange, if it is not Woodcroft, then the roster is almost exactly the same as last year. Some underperforming players are probably one of the main reasons ... their goalie position sux, and some top end players just not producing (McDavid not withstanding because of injury).

I don't see how firing Holland will improve the team on the ice. Although he maybe should be fired for basically staying put from last year's roster and never been able to upgrade the goalie position ... but he tried with Campbell. Goalies are such a crap shoot.

Congrats to Jagr.

Jersey retirement ceremony for him:

Props to Jagr. He is still playing pro hockey at
the age of 51. He plays for his hometown of Kladno in the Czech Republic.

Lemieux and Jagr were one of the most exciting tandem of superstar players to ever play in the NHL back in the day.

Two Stanley Cups for Lemieux and Jagr. One Hart Trophy for Jagr.

1921 points for JJ. -second only to Gretzky’s 2857 pts.

Apparently Zadorov is requesting a trade. His agent is the same as Kuzmenko and Mikheyev's.

Rick Dhaliwal says Canucks will be trying to get him.

spoon.ek9 11-11-2023 08:09 AM

I saw that too and immediately Donnie's argument was that we don't need another left shot D (which is true). If anything, Tanev would make more sense as someone who has proven chemistry with Hughes and can also still play top 4 minutes in a shutdown role.

Who knows though, I'm sure Zadorov is not the only player who wants out of Calgary. There could be a deal to be had with multiple players.

Reminders:

1. Game is at 4pm today
2. Shorty and Cheech will be covering the BOS vs MTL game if you wanna hear them together (also 4pm)

Hondaracer 11-11-2023 09:55 AM

Fuck like cuthbert is hella overrrated imo, give shorty the game

Cuthbert been riding that golden goal high since 2010

spoon.ek9 11-11-2023 02:07 PM

Still worlds better than Tomlinson lol. I'm really hoping in the near future that Ferraro becomes Shorty's permanent partner.

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2023 02:25 PM

Cuthbert is fine, he has that iconic Canadian sports broadcaster voice. My only thing is his Canadian accent is soooo thick it makes me laugh sometimes. "Ooylers doomp it oot!"

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2023 03:18 PM

Imagine being the guy who goes "Whoo!" after Amazing Grace, as everyone else starts the moment of silence

sonick 11-11-2023 03:19 PM

Why are they showing BOS/MTL and not TOR/VAN on the main CBC channel?

Surprised since it's both Canadian teams and it's Toronto.

Not till Ferraro's contract is up with ESPN. Few years away still.

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2023 03:29 PM

Ferraro is excellent (well he was when I last heard him years ago), they should buy out his contract if he wants

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2023 03:31 PM

Hell of a fight! Giordano did a great job tying him up. Officials went to break it up and Joshua was like Fuck No! Only to get beat up more

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2023 03:34 PM

JT!

Joshua made that possible!

sonick 11-11-2023 03:36 PM

Tyler Myers obvious cross check lol. I guess less embarassing than getting pylon'd as he was the last guy back with a Leaf player bearing down on him.
