it's funny reading the comments on fb/twitter to see how many fans have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to the AAV of this contract lol. "I wish he would have taken a hometown discount" "should have signed for no more than 10M" |
Aav under 12m is a win, great contract. |
interesting that he only gets NMC in years 2 to 8. |

Yeah, I think the owners and the NHLPA need to discuss amendments to close the loophole of no salary cap during the playoffs. What about a hybrid system like this one? Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun I believe this is in fact one of the ideas the some of the GMs have. That the on -ice, game day playoff lineup is cap-compliant. So you dress a max $81.5 M lineup even though you may be carrying $90 M in players. So a hybrid solution as Gord explains here ⤵️ 5:45 AM · Mar 25, 2022 Why should teams like Vegas and Tampa be allowed to get an unfair advantage over other teams during the playoffs by exploiting a loophole in the salary cap?? If that loophole continues to exist, heck, the Canucks could say "well, let's put Dakota Joshua and Soucy on LTIR for the rest of the season" and then "Boom, once the playoffs start, we can put both players in the lineup for game 1" hahah. A miracle healing of injuries for our Canucks. LUL |

The Official 2023/2024 Canucks & NHL Thread It's about time that Rogers Arena had upgrades to the seats. These black seats with cupholders look comfortable. $150 million spent on renovations. https://theprovince.com/sports/hocke...o-rogers-arena https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9a6bce1987.jpg The Vancouver Canucks announced the third phase of the arena’s $150-million revitalization plan on Monday, which will include replacing all lower and upper bowl seating with new custom-designed black seats that include cupholders. “Last August, ownership committed to replacing all seats in the building, and we confirm that we are proceeding with that investment,” Michael Doyle, the Canucks’ president of business operations said in a statement. A new and improved “digital screen experience” will also be launched on the concourse level, “connecting fans to the digital infrastructure within the bowl while aiding in navigating the arena and taking advantage of unique food and beverage options available,” according to a release. A new Level 400 sports and entertainment experience for fans who want a mix of social experiences and event viewing is also in the works. |
Black seats will make the arena look so different |
I mean the LTIR loophole is great and all if you're the team doing it, but everyone else in the league thinks you're full of shit and you cheated your way to a cup. People on reddit still bring it up every time Tampa and Vegas' cups are mentioned. With the Stone move yesterday, people were already talking about how Vegas miraculously comes up with like 7 million of free cap space before the playoffs every year, lmao. |

If that trade happens and knowing our luck, we're gonna face Bruins in the finals and Lindholm is gonna fuck the Nucks over lol |
No way the Canucks trade Lindholm after giving up a 1st rounder and Hunter Brzzzz. It takes time for players to acclimatize to the new organization and systems. Let him marinate and build chemistry for the playoffs. |
^it takes time, but how much time to cook this is something else. but hey.. maybe they do move 2025 assets one more.. who knows |
It's hard to say what to do here. the team has played (mostly) poorly since acquiring Lindholm. Obviously you can't pin all the losses on one player but he has yet to find his game with us. To be fair, he has been bounced around all over the lineup while the team tries to find a good fit given the injuries we've been dealt. Where he has exceeded is faceoff prowess and defensive play despite his overall negative +/-. If the Canucks do indeed flip him, I'll understand it but not entirely support the move. If Lindholm were to rediscover his scoring touch with us, that would be the best outcome here I think. It's definitely fun for people to speculate what kind of moves could be made here though. My hope is that no package involves dealing Hoglander. I'd prefer we didn't move Podkolzin but I might be ok with it depending on the return. Anyways, the boys are looking better against the Kings tonight. Petey with a really smart goal. I hate the way the Kings play. It's so boring to watch and looks so stifling to play against. Sure, they can win games this way but even their own fans are bored of the product displayed. |
