Zegras with one on the same night too. |
You don't want to be the Prez trophy winner at the 82 game mark so jostle for #2 or #3 .. but don't be #1 whatever happens. |

Latest data I could find was from 10 years ago, but it covers the first 17 years under the current format. #1 seed has won the cup more than any other seed, at 35% . #2 is in 2nd at 29%, #3 is in 3rd, #4 is the 4th most, and #5 the 5th most, and that's the lowest to win in the first 17 years. This correlation is even stronger in the Western Conference. No western team lower than #3 won the cup in the first 17 years of the current format You want the highest seed possible. The only outlier is the #7 seed has reached the finals more than other mid to low seeds (4-8). All stats favour the higher seed. Home wins, playing low seeds, etc. 8 seed will probably have less pressure, but they are usually the 8 seed for a reason - they are not as good as the other teams. It has only happened 12 out of 54 times. Yes it sucked when it happened to the Canucks in 2012 lol. It hit me hard as a Nordiques fan in 95, especially since they moved the next year to win it all I'll be the one to say curses don't exist :troll: |
I'm still soaking in how we're in sole possession of first place in the league by xmas. The last Canadian team to do so was the Sens back in 2005 :ahwow: |
Winning the west could be huge this year because the bottom seeds are probably gonna be garbage teams that just squeak in like the preds or wild. So it could be a big bonus to be near or at the top by the end of the season |
I like that Oilers need to leap frog 5 teams to get into playoffs. That wild card race is gonna be close I think. |
Good time to be a Ravens and Canucks fan :awwyeah: Just hope everyone stays healthy and both teams make deep playoff runs POGGERS |
Glad Höglander is out of the doghouse. He’s fun to watch out there. Ridiculous edges. He’s like a waterbug. |

Seems like we always loose to certain eastern teams. PHI and NJD comes to mind. |
Watching Edmonton vs Ducks. Anthem singer goes half retard.......... kind of upsetting when some amurican butchers our national anthem. Then he proceeds to go full on retard on his own national anthem Star Mangled Banner it was................. weird, but expected, the fans there loved it. Egged him on........... sheesh. Nothing sacred these days. Like Pink........... never gonna not stop criticizing showboating performances of national anthems at sporting events. While on the subject of Pink, why is it every song is about fights or fighting? Girl has issues. |
The PWHL is starting today with its Original 6 team of Minnesota, Boston, Montreal, NY, Toronto, and Ottawa https://www.tsn.ca/pwhl. Seems like an Eastern Canada/US thing ... maybe that reduces travel. Interesting that they don't have team names, they just use the name of city. So who will win a championship first ... PWHL Toronto or the Leafs? Not sure how well they will do but wish them the best. Now is the time to purchase a team and say you own a professional sports before the team's value becomes a billion $$ :lol. Seattle hosting Winter Classic vs. Vegas Knights today ... should be entertaining. |
