Can you BMW people explain to me what this is supposed to be, the interior actually looks kinda cool compared to regular x5 x7

It's an abject failure.

It's supposed to be their current gen halo car, but all it managed to do was be slower than the X5M. The drivetrain is the precursor to what's currently in the weird looking new M5, which is slower than the F90 M5

JDMDreams 05-27-2025 04:10 PM

I thought it was some full EV thing but has exhaust tips

westopher 05-27-2025 04:32 PM

I think they were like 270k new.

noclue 05-27-2025 04:36 PM

I think it was like 230K + taxes.
holy foooook the depreciation

Hondaracer 05-27-2025 04:55 PM

I think they look pretty cool but may age poorly

RabidRat 05-27-2025 05:42 PM

This has to be a rebuild. How did this depreciate like 50% in 2 years??

westopher 05-27-2025 05:51 PM

Just look at it.

So story time.

I was in Langley getting the paperwork done on our X5, and they had a used XM in the showroom. I asked about it, he said yeah it was close to 300k brand new out the door. The owner had it for 18 months and got bored and traded it in for a M8.

The trade in price? 140k. I was flabbergasted. He lost almost half the value in 18 months. I guess ppl with money don't care.

I think PHEV performance engines are a recipe for disaster, unless you are leasing it and DGAF. You toot around in EV mode and suddenly you floor it and kickstart the engine to life with cold oil that hasnt really had time to circulate through?

He’s gonna take a similar haircut on that m8 as well. Jesus Christ.

I hope these idiots lease and claim such insanity off as business expenses.

bcrdukes 05-28-2025 06:25 AM

Proof that people are not poor!

68style 05-28-2025 06:48 AM

I’m sure that XM provided $140k worth of pleasure and enjoyability in those 18 months

I mean Hobz could have paid for anal with a German bimbo approximately 475 times with that same money including his flights to Germany… but I’m sure the XM did even more to make its previous owner satisfied

Badhobz 05-28-2025 07:09 AM

Anal with a german bimbo sounds delightful! :awwyeah:

EvoFire 05-28-2025 07:39 AM

By all intents and purposes, the 180k X5M was a better car, in every single way. The iX M60 was a better electrified solution if that was your goal.

JDMDreams 05-28-2025 08:41 AM

^^ I'm disappointed that I found out even the x7 alpina is made in Spartanburg, South Carolina factory, so infact you're not analing a German, but probably a 300 pound Cletus Trump supporter.

EvoFire 05-28-2025 08:54 AM

Most of BMWs SUVs are made in Spartanburg. The exception is X1/X2, which is made together with the Mini Countryman in Europe, and the iX which I believe is also made in Europe. I don't know where the XM is made.

BMW US in South Carolina.

Badhobz 05-28-2025 09:06 AM

Disgusting. If you’re gonna sell me a German car at least make it in a real hitler factory.

JDMDreams 05-28-2025 09:46 AM

The 2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI, sold in Canada, is primarily manufactured at the Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant in Germany. This plant is one of the largest and most advanced car factories in the world. While the Golf is also built in other locations, the Euro Golfs, including the GTI, have traditionally come from Germany. The first digit of the VIN for a car made in Germany will be "W".

:notbad:

That creaky creaky German anal

Hondaracer 05-28-2025 10:42 AM

Drove by the Wolfsburg factory on a train some years back

I saw it on a map and thought, how big could it really be? The train was going pretty fast and still took a couple minutes to clear the whole facility, place was fucking massive

GS8 05-28-2025 11:01 AM

"Halo Car"

SUV

Fuck off BMW

I hear it’s exactly the same problem in Porsches. All squeaks and rattles galore with infotainment and electronic issues.

Harvey Specter 05-28-2025 12:18 PM

Speaking of BMW interiors, my wife picked up a new X3 and wow talk about cost cutting. Tons of hard plastic, no ambient lighting in the rear and generally a very cheap feeling interior. We also owned the previous X3 which actually felt luxury.

JDMDreams 05-28-2025 12:22 PM

You drive a Lambo but you let your wife drive an x3 :notbad:
