1972 Nissan datsun 510 - CA$12,000

Quote:

My Grandmother bought this 1972 510 in 72 from the dealer, it's a gem for an enthusiast who may want to restore as brand new or do a restomod. I inherited the car to possibly keep it, but plans have changed. The provenance of this 510 is amazing, the interior is 8/10 but there is some rust, but the car is solid. Needs new rockers which I have but the paint is great. Runs and drive. Price is obo.

Yeah, Bricklins still look good. I see one around town here from time to time. I don't think they drive very well though.

Fun fact, the entire body of that car is made of plastic... or acrylic resin bonded to fibreglass. It's not painted, it's just that colour or whatever colour they made it.

Sunburst POS that needs engine work.

headhunt3r 12-05-2025 04:41 PM

Probably needs like 10k worth of work but I'll be damned if my interest isn't slightly piqued to acquire a Sunburst Yellow NA. Would love to stash a collector plate NA, but I don't know if I have it in me to do the work all over again.

EvoFire 12-05-2025 04:52 PM

Would it cost 10k to just drop a healthy BP in? Aren't those engines pretty cheap?

headhunt3r 12-05-2025 04:55 PM

The car looks to be in rough shape overall, so I'm looking at total cost.

JDMDreams 12-05-2025 04:58 PM

I was gonna say it's quite steep for just a shell, paint chipping in some places, colour over all looks mismatched

That's cheap, why would you buy a Civic for that price?

JDMDreams 12-10-2025 02:19 PM

Sort of want and be Boomer hobz, I wonder how bad the electric gremlins are though

Ditto. BMW has done a great job on executing green on their cars. I originally liked Alfa Romeo's green on the Giulia, but BMW hit it out of the park.

Are you and your wife the new owners?

whitev70r 12-12-2025 01:07 PM

Does this belong in good or interesting, or neither? 2015 BMW i3 with ext, $6888. I mean if your commute to work and back is less than 80 kms, nice golf cart.

Good thing is that it has the extender which means you will never be stranded, technically.

AstulzerRZD 12-12-2025 01:11 PM

The batteries on these are end of life at this age because they have very primitive management systems.

The range extender also had head gasket issues.

Go buy a Volt instead, they're far better cars.
