If it was good he would have posted something immediately. He just didn’t wanna break your heart |
Have you ever thought that maybe he 'got some' after dinner with gf because the food was so damn good? |
Or you sent him to the toilet cuz it probably triggered his IBS and now he’s so dehydrated he turns into a mummy. |

OK, "The Kitchen" review. White, White, White... I'm starting to wonder if you actually go in and eat at restaurants, or if you just stand outside hands placed, looking through the window, before you continue off on your bike. It's the only way I can explain your obsession with this place :lol I ordered from the curry bar, and got the roast beef sandwich. Both were...fine? Curry was ok, nothing I'd order again. The sandwich was better than the curry, but someone like Westopher would scoff at it. I'd rather pay the same and get a sandwich at Meat & Bread, personally. It was worth checking out, but unless you're close by, I wouldn't bother. |
I can't speak for the other menu items but a bunch of us had the burger combo last time and it was a hit. Someone else had I think it was the porchetta and the feedback was positive. |
I think it has the best price point and quality. I've tried the roast beef sandwich, burger, chicken burger but not the curry yet. mikey says 'meh' ... everyone, don't go, not worth it. |
This is a personal opinion only but when you have a supermarket serving ethnic dishes, I believe they have to moderate how "authentic" it has to be. Granted, I'm not chef and I don't work in the industry, so I could be off base with my statement. For what it's worth, where I work, we have an in-house cafeteria that served (emphasis on past tense) Indian cuisine because of the large population of Indian staff. Due to the diversity and regional nuances of Indian cuisine, the folks there pressured the food services team to make certain regions of their favourite dishes on specific days (north vs south etc.) It got out of control and it nearly turned into a cultural war, they stopped offering Indian food altogether. Given that, I'm willing to try the curry next time I'm in town. There's a good chance I'll give it a 10/10 just to mess with you all. Having said that, you just can't please everyone. :D |
^Once I saw corn kernels in the vegetable biryani, I knew what I was signing up for :lol |
I would not have bothered trying the curry lol, to Dukes' point its a western grocery store it's very likely to be bad; mediocre at best. The burger was the main thing that was hyped, and it was moreso to do with the value for the price and the fact it was at a grocery store. |
hmm ya i fully expected him to have the burger and fries, and bro goes for the curry... at save on foods. |
Yeah, BRB. Let me go to a Korean restaurant to order Ethiopian cuisine. |
Lol at this rate Mike's not gonna hook any of us with his sweet meat. |
Given the circumstances, I wouldn't hold it against him. :D |

Probably need your help because he can't hand-le it alone. |

My workplace cafeteria was... interesting at times. I sometime preferred heading over to the gas station for food instead. Ordered basically a egg/sausage McMuffin no cheese. I get an English muffin with a slice of cheese. Send it back. Get a English muffin with sausage only. Send it back. Egg/sausage with cheese this time. Send it back as I'm lactose intolerant. Manager goes over from the till to the kitchen to see what's up. Employee tells her the order wasn't written right. Manager asks who wrote this order? Employee looks her in the eyes and shrugs. The person who took my order, IS THE SAME MF THAT MADE THE ORDER WRONG THREE TIMES. Later on, I was told that that location was used as a training location by the caf contractor. Which explained this gem I overheard through the service window while waiting for my food another time. "So don't touch the cooked food after you've handled the raw chicken..... Okay, now you need to remake that." I was the only order at that time... The caf shut down during covid and never reopened, even after we returned to office. |
Heyyyyy, Save-On has an international section, I wanted to see what ol' whitey had cooked up from the land of spices. That's why I got the roast beef sandwich too, make it a balanced review. I'll try the burger next time I'm in the area, I just wouldn't say it's worth the trek if you're coming from Richmond or something to check this place out, and if it's a smash burger you're looking for, I got 5 other recommendations for similar price that would knock this place out the water. |
Summary of last page ...whitey has low standards, Mikey is better foodie critic. :lol |

mikemhg is such a nice guy, his "revenge" on VRYALT3R3D might be sending him a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates with a threatening note saying, "It's not you. It's me." :accepted: |

Indian here. Like I said, Save On curry was all about the value for money. Solid meal for $11. But yeah, definitely no where close to authentic stuff. |
