Overall it was great - I only did a 1 day (992) and a 3 day (Boxster) rental. Other than gas it's all inclusive and it has fairly generous mileage allowances so you can fit in a nice day trip no problem. It beats renting from 3rd parties which have strict limits on things and who will be ticky tacky on everything. The 718 rate is a bargain IMO - when Hyundais rent for $80-100/day the 718 price is peanuts.

If I had the time I'd definitely grab one for a month and just use all the mileage on a couple road trips. Maybe if they had a carseat that fits in the back of a 911 I could convince the wife that we do it.

This has been true for about 5 years lol

Toyota tried to fix but it didn't help

Wasn't their fix just to leave out a couple of the cover pieces, in hopes that it could dry out better? Lolol

Badhobz 09-22-2025 10:41 AM

Rat, did you check your wiring underneath your highlander? maybe thats contributing to your poor mileage? (totally making shit up, but i guess it doesnt hurt to check).

I think they literally added a hole in hopes the salty water would drain out of the connector

Yep, those are the same rates from 3-4 years ago. Same for the 911. I don’t know why they haven’t raised them considering their MSRP price increases.

If the aftermarket can quickly come up with a watertight boot / covering for the plug, I don't understand why Toyota couldn't come up with that sooner once the problem has been discovered.

Sweet. Was it a rental or something? Just a normal HPDE?

AstulzerRZD 09-22-2025 11:21 AM

Rental in Vegas.

It's a bit of a mindfuck to drive - it's dominated by how you use brakes to control and setup for the rear end swinging around. Have to throw almost my whole bodyweight into the brake pedal.

Car does not like turning unless it’s done right so that u can get on the gas fairly aggressively to rotate the rear but also add even more gas to use the rear engine traction to straighten out.

Yawn.

Generic and boring, what reason outside of leasing or financing rates would anyone buy this crap.

Soon to be rental fleet vehicle.

AstulzerRZD 09-23-2025 10:52 AM

Standard 360 camera huh
That might be enough to sell some

RabidRat 09-23-2025 11:07 AM

What's wrong with you people?! This competes with a Corolla.

Have some reasonable standards!!!
