Aimed the headlights so they werent pointing at the sky/ditches anymore. Also turned the boost up to 12.5psi for the first time. Noticable difference.

does it matter if there is more support? not really. an H with an intake headder exhaust and a set of cams in an ef would ROAST. do you REALLY need to do that much more? not really.. He has the H already, it would be stupid to switch to a K just because it's the new and fancy thing to do.

Goodluck Brandon.. I hope the swap goes well.

Of course! :p:p

Decided 12.5psi wasnt enough for enjoyment. Grabbed the closest pair of pliers and turned that shit up to 14pounds baby! Damn that car pulls like a bitch in the rain. WAY harder than on a hot day :)

Tchleung 09-10-2005 11:47 PM

Lol careful now...

whitetalon 09-11-2005 08:20 AM

just curious Impulse guy does your bitch pull hard? never really heard of a bitch pulling hard but maybe yours does.

i told you it went not bad... and your all disspointed at 9 psi... 14 is a big jump from 9

Dmanm 09-11-2005 09:14 AM

Whitetalon: Technically sled dogs are bitches and they pull really hard. Try again.

And about the from 9 - 14psi, ya boost compounds on itself so it doesnt seem like much but even 12 - 14 is a jump.

fourtirefire 09-11-2005 10:51 AM

be careful with 14 pounds on stock injectors... make sure your narrowband A/F gauge is in the green at all times under WOT.. just to be on the safe side

14 pounds? what's that? I only know about 20 lol, it's the only way to get any sort of CFM out of that 14b right now

girlcrazy_420 09-11-2005 11:43 AM

Its running at the border of stoich and rich under wot. I figured that was decent as long as it wasnt running lean. Correct?

The rain was interesting, right when the turbo spooled up in 1st off the line, she'd spin all 4 for a brief moment. I love this shit! Danny; take me for a rip in that Talon of yours.

Side note: The car likes to stall under de-acceleration to a stop. shifting fron 2nd-1st to neutral, the idle is erratic and eventually stalls. What causes this? ECU problems, faulty injectors?

fourtirefire 09-11-2005 06:14 PM

sounds good.. i'm glad your actully keeping that car running, it's nice to see fellow turbo awd vehicles out there!

my car is slow right now.. just wait till I have my turbo back in... then it'll be worth while going for a bomb in. heh the rain yesterday was fun drifting through corners, i'm glad my rear diff still functions properly too, not having LSD back there would lick!

as for your problem.. i was going to say it's because your venting your BOV, but you have a MAP sensor.. so it wouldn't be that, sounds more like a vacuum leak or a plugged fuel filter.

fourtirefire 09-12-2005 05:38 PM

todays mods:
replaced thermostat with an OEM 195deg one, I'd been running a 180deg one for ever now, and the last one before that was always cold because it was broken into 3 pieces.
hmm maybe this will solve my mysteriously shitty constantly gas mileage i've always had. Not to mention the nightmares i've had trying to tune the thing!

oh and put a stock FPR back in, the one i had in there was just too much fuel pressure for a 14b

Tchleung 09-12-2005 07:35 PM

wow 195 is stock? so hot lol. I'm running a 160 degree lol.

then again, OE honda = start opening at 169-176* and fully open at 194* so that's about the same

girlcrazy_420 09-12-2005 08:49 PM

The Impulse holds a steady 180. I've had it hit as high as 185... As long as shit aint boiling under the hood, she's good to go.
