$10 says Home and In-game XMB won't be released until end of 2008..

so happy that we're gonna find out more about XMB, Home, DS3 and next FW update tmr.

Looking into buying a PS3 basically just for the Blu Ray player. but I do have one question, will it play burned DVD/CD's? Or do you have to chip it like the PS2? I choose the Ps3 over a standard player just because I do like to play Rockband and GH on occasion. But really, if it won't play burned items, it's not worth it to me.

It should play burned DVD's and will definitely play burned CD's (and MP3s, not to mention streamed MP3s) but not copied Blu-Ray movies or games

But why you would get a PS3 to play crappy quality DVD's I don't understand...

Because I don't have a DVD player either :p Blu Ray isn't even available where I live right now(At the rental places). But thanks for the advice, looks like i'll have one in my living room soon enough.

Soooo...I just bought a PS3 yesterday since, now that the format war is over, I thought I should get a Blu-Ray player.

...seriously, the PS3 exclusive games suck balls...and it doesn't look like it'll get any better until GT5 and MGS4.

have you tried God of War 3, er, heavenly Sword? Short game but enjoyable.

same thing with Drakes Fortune, enjoyable but short.

Heavenly Sword is an exercise in button mashing. Seriously, I just randomly hacked at the controller and won except for those super annoying missions where you have to somehow guide arrows or cannonballs with the SixAxis.

Drake's Fortune...I sort of saw parts of the game when I was at my buddy's house and it looked pretty gay. Like Tomb Raider but...worse.

meh, to each their own. I enjoyed them both.

Drake's Fortune is really good

Uncharted is good, especially with the combat, system, i actually like the fact that you really have to take cover when ur being shot at.. lol

but other than that, it really depends of how u can justify how much u will pay for the game, i found it really short when i bought it new when it came out


if you can find it used for $30 to $40, then its good, but otherwise, paying full price wont justify the length of the game..

Can't wait for God of war 3, should be out next march :)

imo 2008 is gonna pretty solid year for exclusives to finally pick it up a notch.

it looks cool, but I am not sure if PSN can handle the online games (GOD please let there be an online mode).

Fighting games are tough to create a good online environment, especially when the hitting mechanism is based on a frame by frame analysis, such as VF.

I will have to wait and see, too little is known right now.

On the other hand, KZ2 looks GREAT, now if only they have improved that crappy AI in KZ1.

question: i attach my microsd into an external card reader and for some reason the ps3 says theres no pictures on it, do the pictures have to be in a certain file?
