Mines 75 all in.

Unlimited pic/vid text
Unlimited calling
3G data
500 national mins

Not great, but so hard to get a better plan.

Koflach 01-15-2015 08:37 PM

I'm on an okay plan that is not available anymore. not sure if there is anything better I can do when my plan is up in december.

$67.90 taxes in
Unlimited Eve & Wknd Minutes
6pm Early Evening Calling
200 Weekday Minutes
6gb data
voice mail
caller id...

Hondaracer 01-15-2015 08:42 PM

you wont be able to get anything close to that because they will force you onto a share plan

Koflach 01-15-2015 10:35 PM

can't I keep the plan if I just buy a new phone outright?

SoNaRWaVe 01-15-2015 11:36 PM

yes you can. and that is the better way to go in my opinion.

mr_chin 01-16-2015 01:47 PM

I'm pretty sure you have a one time exception on HUP that only a manager can approve, only if it's your first time in the last 2 - 3 years.

Call and ask about the exception before buying outright.

Doubl3_H 01-16-2015 02:43 PM

$75 with taxes
Unlimited Canada wide minutes
Caller id n voicemail
Unlimited data for 3 months then 2gb thereafter
Been with then for almost 10yrs and that was the best they can do
Much disappointed

blkgsr 01-16-2015 02:47 PM

what this a new offer???

i'm gonna rage at them if it is, this was the loyalty dept?

i'm at unlimited calling/texting/pictures etc canada wide and 3gb for $80....then my wife's on the share plan for another $55 (unlimited calling etc and we share the 3gb)

we both got new samsung S5's, mine cost me nothing, we paid $100 for hers

No offense, but that is one garbage plan for $66. Even if they give you one more GB, you're better off going to wind... or just go on a new BYOD share everything plan and have unlimited calls with caller ID and probably 2 GB for like $75.

Yeah it is a crappy plan. :alone:

I am currently on a 3 year plan that will be up in December, so i'm right on target with your estimation. If they allow a one time exception, do you think they'd allow me to do an early upgrade?

Well of course, an exception would mean they would allow it.

Just mention that you haven't done a HUP since June 2014 when the new policy kicked in, and wish to see if a manager will approve it.

Otherwise, you'll have to bump your monthly bill to $80 before tax (I believe add-ons are allowed but don't take my word for it) to do a HUP.

Can anyone recommend a plan for me and the gf?

She is not tied to a contract currently and is looking for an upgrade from her 4S.

My plan is with Rogers and it will end on Feb 04, 2015. I have the old 6gb data plan with 200 weekday, Unlimited nights/weekends and unlimited messaging. We want to save a little and look for a couples plan.

Im thinking 6gb would be enough for us both but when i looked at Rogers website, we would only save $5/month vs if she opened a new plan for herself.

I dont mind renewing with Rogers or go to another provider. Phone upgrade doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance.

^ if that's the case, jut call up telus and leave rogers. it doesn't make a diff. where you go, but if yo umove between fido or rogers, there's nothing ot leverage.

call telus and say, hey, they are giving you this this this (over estimate it) and then tell them you are under a corp company and you also get 20% off ur plan.

SoNaRWaVe 01-17-2015 10:12 PM

i don't think you can share your 6gb data unless you switch to a plan that allows sharing. if that is true, that means you have to get a new plan and that means they will rape you.

if she wants to upgrade her phone, they will tell her she needs one of the newer plans which would cost 80$/month.

i would wait until your contract ends and then call rogers and tell them you and your gf wants a HUP and have a shared data plan and see if they can get you a deal on the HUP (high hopes here).

if not, i would just leave rogers and start phoning other carriers and see if they will give you a better deal than robbers.

DanHibiki 01-31-2015 02:18 AM

For those of you on Rogers and not happy, what are your incentives for switching to telus or bell?

The prices are practically the same and at least Rogers offers roam like home and Game Center live with their in-market plans. I asked telus and bell they don't have any bonus features.

IMASA 02-06-2015 01:25 PM

My Rogers plan expired. I have an old public sector plan, $47ish 250mins/250 incoming, unlimited 6pm evenings/weekens, 500mb data, CID/CD/VM, etc.

The public sector plans that I can choose from that give me a phone discount are:

$60 + tax
Unlimited Nationwide Calling/Text,etc
3gb data
Caller ID/VM/Caller Display

or

$70 + tax
Same but with 5gb data

Am I gonna get anything better by phoning into retensions or is this a decent plan?

SoNaRWaVe 02-06-2015 05:11 PM

i am on a public sector plan right now. and what you are offered for $70/mo, i am paying only $50/mo for the exact plan.

if the current 500mb suffices you, i would say the $60 plan is really all you need. i am not sure how retention works with phone discounts.

I'm on a very similar plan to the $70 plan you've listed and I'm only paying $56/month after tax, although it is an older plan.

Rogers really does NOT know the meaning of the word "value" anymore.
Not sure what other providers are offering, but if you can maybe use something better to negotiate when you call retentions it may help your chances.

It is insane the prices that we are paying.

And then Wind comes out with this promo:

If their coverage area was better i'd be all over it.

I hear you on that

dicecube 02-16-2015 11:51 AM

I just ported out from Rogers to koodo 55 SK plan plus byod

jmanhas 03-11-2015 12:56 PM

I have a dilemma, and was wondering if you guys could give me some input..

Situation:

I used to work for X company, and they have an employee plan with Rogers.
My current plan is 450 weekday minutes, unltd evenings after 6 + weekends, ultd text, 6gb data for roughly 55$ with tax. I recently left X company, and my contract is coming up.

I want to renew contract to get the iphone6 for a cheaper price, but when i called in, they said I need to either reverify my employment by December of 2015, or sign up with one of their current plans.

So my question is, what is the best way to approach this, to be able to renew my contract, while being able to get a comparable plan? Should I just call in straight to retentions, and say that I dont work at X company anymore, and would like to be on a similar retentions plan?

I'm scared that if I call into Retention, and say that I dont work for X company anymore, they can deny me of any retention plan, ultimately leaving me with no choice but to sign up on an advertised plan.

I don't want to sign up for a 2 year contract on their regular price plans..

What should i do?

Thanks!

keep your current plan on month to month when the contract expires and buy the phone outright

jmanhas 03-11-2015 01:07 PM

i wish i could keep the plan lol, but they said they are going to require me to re-verify my employment status (annual verification) to make sure that I actually still work there. Seeing that I don't work there, the chances of me being able to keep the plan is slim to none.

My contract is on the flextab right now, so if i want to buy out my contract, i just need to pay the remaining balance ($132) left on my tab. I would then be month to month, with my current device.
