I'm quite happy with my 4s and don't foresee buying a new one anytime soon in the last year of my plan. But thanks, good idea if I decide to stay

I would assume by calling Rogers or visiting a retail store.

Atlantis 11-18-2014 12:12 PM

Even if I reside in Vancouver? Hehe.

SoNaRWaVe 11-24-2014 07:24 PM

if this is the trick from RFD, i think you had to do it online in your account.

blkgsr 11-29-2014 06:11 PM

coming back from a long trip away...my contract rant out before i left and went month by month for the last couple....changed my plan to the $5/month data plan just so i could keep the number

coming back in a couple weeks and will need to sign up for a new plan...not really looking forward to dealing with rogers again as there was some billing issues while i was away and they weren't all that accommodating sorting it out

i'm atleast up for a free upgrade, what phones should i be looking at? don't want to have to pay anything out of pocket, i'm fine not having the latest and greatest

what's a reasonable plan these days?

my old plan was 1gb, 500 minutes (with all the bonuses), free incoming, evening and weekends, 100 canada wide, text and voice etc was like $56 with tax

what should i expect now?? i don't need anywhere near 6gb....i've been easily going through 3gb the last couple months here in australia (which by the was has WAY better/cheaper cell plans, but we all know we get screwed in canada)

SoNaRWaVe 11-30-2014 01:04 AM

bring lube back from australia because you are going to be raped by rogers.

lowest plans with 1gb data is at least 70 or 80$ if i recall.

you might want to look at the smaller carriers if you want cheaper plans.

Purely 12-07-2014 01:37 PM

Does anyone know when Lollipop update will roll out for Roger's phones?

SoNaRWaVe 12-07-2014 07:33 PM

i think it will be near the end of december

blkgsr 12-13-2014 08:15 AM

well after 4 fucking hours dealing with rogers my wife and i are now under a shared plan.....fuck me they have some stupid people working for them

and some very very patient people that are just unfortunately restricted by what their systems will let them do

SoNaRWaVe 12-14-2014 08:35 AM

welcome back to rogers lol, nothing has changed since day 1 :)

Jas29 01-01-2015 10:40 PM

Called Rogers a couple of days ago and this is what they offered...

Unlimited calling and text
4gb of data (shared data for the 3 phones)
Caller id voicemail

240 including taxes for 3 phones

SoNaRWaVe 01-02-2015 01:19 AM

so rape.

Rogers eliminating price matching policy on January 16th
What a way to ring in 2015.

Effective January 16th, Rogers will eliminate its price matching policy. This initiative originally launched August 2013 as part of the Freedom Advantage program, and matched any nationally advertised price for a smartphone and contract term that a competing carrier was promoting.

According to an internal doc we received, Rogers wants to find other ways to ‘add value’ to its consumers’ plans:

“We are always looking for innovative ways to better serve our customers, and we frequently update our marketing and programs to reflect this. You’ll notice we’ve added more value to the overall Rogers experience with Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE, Roam Like Home, Rogers First Rewards, and other great perks!”

While Canadian carriers basically release the latest smartphones at the same price, Rogers noted that customers will still be able to share data with up to 10 devices through its Share Everything plans, upgrade or change their plan for free within tier at any time, and “continue to offer competitive pricing for all devices.”

just to add salt to the their wound, it seems there is absolutely no incentive whatsoever is left to stick with rogers unless you have a stellar plan that you are holding on to.

blkgsr 01-07-2015 08:48 AM

i got my first bill, half the shit we agreed to wasn't included such as bonus credits....took 45mins with the chick on the phone to sort it out as she basically said was i was lying about the fact i was supposed to receive the credits with her shitty attitude....i ended up getting what i wanted but it sure wasn't easy

not my fault your own people don't put in the proper notes to the system

!Yaminashi 01-07-2015 08:50 AM

I think someone at Rogers needs to look up the word value in the dictionary..

racerman88 01-07-2015 09:12 AM

You must always take down the reference number. Otherwise they can and will say they made no such offer. Friend had to escalate to Office of the President to get the plan he was promised and got it.

Mr.HappySilp 01-07-2015 12:51 PM

^^ Is Rogers. When I was with them they told me I only have pay $100lish to cancel my acct. However when the bill came it was around $300. Spend over 4 hours on the phone with them and they won't do a thing even saying they have no records that I call in. I wonder how I can disconnect my acct if I didn't call in. Anyways I esclated to BBSA BB still no go. I just pay it off and never ever will go with Rogers again even if they offer me a free iphone.

Jas29 01-07-2015 06:45 PM

Been on hold with rogers for the last 35 mins hopefully I can report back with a decent plan

toyobaru 01-15-2015 11:59 AM

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or can educate me on Roger's policy with using data beyond your plan size. I have a 6gb super plan and now paying approximately $75 a month provided I stay within my plan. I went over in December/January with 8gb (2gb over) I had asked the Rogers Customer Service Rep about how the pricing is broken down for overage. He said there was no pricing for such as I had a plan that is no longer in their database and just charge $30 as soon as I go over. Without an actual breakdown of how much my overage is I cant help but feel like Rogers no longer cares for the customers who have plans that they don't wish to change. I hope someone can maybe shed some light on this.

I believe this depends on your plan. Log into your Roger's account and see if you have Flex Data Rate under your plan. If you do, then there is a set rate for every GB you go over. Otherwise they just charge you $15/GB it seems. Others get hit hard with $50/GB, which equals to $0.05/MB as stated in their terms.

No offense, but that is one garbage plan for $66. Even if they give you one more GB, you're better off going to wind... or just go on a new BYOD share everything plan and have unlimited calls with caller ID and probably 2 GB for like $75.
