I like the look of those plugs alot better...going lean really sucks. Sure a super rich mixture is going to foul your plugs a bit, and make your eyes water at 10 feet, but you never hear people saying " Yeah I riched out my motor at the top of third gear and BANG"

Full power is achieved at a ratio of 13:1, optimum gas mileage and emissions output occur at a mixture of 14.7:1. So a little rich never hurt anyone, I'd be scared if my plugs looked like this

Happy Tuning

yeah my leading plugs look a little rich and my trailing plugs look a little lean, but, whatcha gonna do eh. Overall I'd say both leading and trailing are in the healthy range on both rotors. Will have to watch them again after actually installing DLIDFIS. :)

NashMan 12-08-2002 07:06 AM

chould try runing hotter plug and run rich at teh same tiem it will = out in the end

NanaimoRx-7 12-08-2002 01:00 PM

A hotter plug combined with 'spirited' driving would not be the best idea...because rotary's plugs are constantly firing (no rest/cooling cycle like a piston) a hotter plug leads to excessive heat retention in the porcelain and can cause cracking. The only people that run hotter plugs are those that do alot of sitting in city traffic, or live in really cold climates. I beleive BR8 is the standard city plug and 9 for the highway....I run 9's and only fouled them once. Idling in traffic for 45-60 minutes in Vic on Canada day. Cleared 'em back up in a few minutes of regualr driving.

NashMan 12-08-2002 03:57 PM

well i am aware of that but not runing to hot is bad one yes but fi you run to cold of plus you will flude easy

Timpo 12-09-2002 09:51 AM

how often do you change you plug? like every 10,000kms?

Zulu 12-09-2002 12:57 PM

whenever they look like crap :p

I do my oil every 3,000kms, check plugs at every oilchange, this set is ok now, will probably be getting tired at the next change. So I'd say yeah every 6~10k... Too bad these plugs are farking expensive.

Where is that? Is it far away from here? Are those pump made for FD? Cuz I found that FC ones are hard to use on FDs...

DC450 12-10-2002 11:17 AM

Hey, Those locations are in the states. Easy enough to ship here.

One guy said make him an offer the other guy said that 75 bucks and shipping (american) would be good enough.

I have no idea if thats good deal or not...but in my opinion, it should be a little bid lower than $8888...I have no idea about the anniversary RX-7 turbo price range...

DriftVirgin 12-11-2002 12:02 AM

haha, I can drift in my car now :) It's definately got the power to do it...

What I really want is an RX7 like yours Timpo, but I can't afford it... so I thought I'd go 2nd gen

Plus, it's almost idential to Ryousuke Takahashi's FC3S :D!!!
he's my favorite!
